Those who disrespect the fallen, who died to give you the rights you now enjoy, are nothing but shameful cowards. Also, those same people(and I use that term 'people' lightly) have never fought for their rights or the rights of anyone else. Remember this scumbags, you enjoy your freedom of speech, your freedom of relegion, and your freedom of the press, all paid for by the blood and courage of those whom you get on here and down. In my opinion you are nothing but trash, trash that even a garbage collector wouldn't pick up. Not to mention how cowardily you are.

Sorry to piss on your parade sunshine, but Britain is still a free country where people can express their opinion. You and I may not like it, but many people prefer not to show respect to our dead, and consider, for instance, Remembrance Day as a glorification of war, violence, colonialism and imperialism.
There was an article, as such, in The Telegraph recently, written by a prominent journalist. Even some ex-servicemen, and their families have finally given up buying and wearring the poppies for that occasion.
We live too much in the past, and most of British history has been the subjugation of nations or countries during our Empire. Now it's time to turn the page. Many people don't agree about celebrating the dead of the Iraki or Afghan wars, considered by many to be gratuitous attacks on innocent population.
Those are not my views, perhaps, but they are growing among the new generations of the British public. Young people don't want to hear about the Boer War, WWI, the Dardanelles, etc...

Yes, Britian is still a free country. Thanks to all those who fought and to those who died to keep it free. Think about that.
You dont have to agree with something to show respect, but disrespect is uncalled for.

Problem these days some people compare the Wars we have been involved in like Iraq are the same as WW2,they are not, they are wars of choice,WW2 was a War that had to be fought our very survival was at stake, the Barbarians were at the gates,i always attended the remembrance days but have stopped because the Pro War pigs have hijacked it.

The assumption that "those who fought and to those who died" did it for our "freedom" is very often just a myth.
During the 19th century, Britain wasn't at risk of invasion, but still engaged in overseas wars to expand its empire. The wars in Crimea, in Turkey, in India, etc... weren't against nations that threatened our freedom as you say, but to protect British commercial or strategic interest.
The Boer War in early 20th century wasn't to defend our freedom, but to annex territories next to our South African colony, and so on ... What about their freedom?
Now we are engaged in Afghanistan for the third time in our history, but I have never seen the Afghans threatening our freedom.
Maybe our participation in WWII was to save us from Nazi tyranny, but the same cannot be said about WWI which was just a conflict between 5 imperial powers.
As a country, Britain has not been threatend by invasion since 1940, and the last time before that was under Napoleon. None of the wars in between or since were in defense of our "freedom".
The Falkland War was to maintain a colony.

i am very happy to piss on your parade sunshine, but the only reason scum are free to disrespect OUR war dead,is because of the sacrifice OUR war dead made.many people choose not to show respect because of ignorance or arrogance.(and that is why i am free to refer to them as scum)
so there was an article in The Telegraph by a prominent journalist was there,if you want to take moral advice from the profession that hacked Milly Doweler,s phone be my guest.
your knowledge of British society seams to be sadly lacking,we do not "celebrate" our war dead on the 11 of November we remember them, that is why it is called "Remembrance Day"
as for young people and their interest in our history ,despite the efforts of the left more and more young people are taking an interest in the achievements of our armed forces past and present if you had took the time and attended your local War Memorial on Sunday i am sure you would have been surprised by the number of young people taking part,Army cadets ,Scouts and young people paying their respects.i have never been to a such a well attended Remembrance Day as the one on Sunday.
i would say a lot of people in the UK disagree with our troops being in Afghanistan, but only a tiny amount blame the troops for their involvement,do a search on youtube for WOOTTON BASSET,you may not like what you see but that is the reality in the UK,MOST British people appreciate what our service men and women do for us.
so next year on "Remembrance Day" wear your poppy with pride, because without their sacrifice none of us would be on here saying whatever we want, would we?

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Virgo

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
