tell me about it. I live in Queensway and have made several complaints about neighbours living at 77 who do not give a damn about the rest of us. By the rest of us, I include, gay, lesbian, elderly and disabled. The council more or less said that those (6 in total) in a one-bedrooomed flat have more priority than those who have been here for years, yet they have only been living there for a year and a half. The neighbourhood is split over this and many of us now want to move, though I expect priority will be given to those at number 77 as always. In the meantime, I have given up the gardening project for my block and many of the plants remaining will also be dug up and relocated where they cannot be vandalised. These neighbours flout the law in many ways and Brighton and Hove City Council do not give a damn!!!:(

I too live in Queensway and it appears to me that the housing officer Mel by name is not at all interested and should not be in the job she was given. Most people I have spoken to have not even heard of her and others who have been fortunate to receive a call, describe her as being quite uninterested in sorting this out this dispute. It is no wonder that vigilante groups have spoken about uniting together to do the work that Mel should be doing.!

Right at this very moment, those that Raole have pointed out are smoking in the communal hallway, throwing their cigarette butts on the floor where we have to constantly kick them out of the way. It is bad enough that the council sends out cleaners who use very dirty water to clean the stairwells and without disinfectant. I am one of the above mentioned who also feels ignored by Mel. I found her attitude to be very lax and care-free and I wholly support anybody who has issues with noisy neighbours that housing officers simply do not care about!
