Brandon has about 50,000 people, so while it's number two in Manitoba it's not widely known outside of the Prairies and N.W. Ontario. I'd like to take a pop quiz of Manitobans to see if they know where Cambridge, Ont., Sherbrooke, Que., or Nanaimo, B.C. are...and I mean beyond knowing what province they are in. I still meet many people who call Vancouver Island "Victoria Island", which of course is part of Nunavut and the N.W.T.

My point is, most people do not have very good geography skills, but never in Canada have I topped this. I was once in Upstate New York about 60 miles from the Canadian border and stopped for gas. The gas attendant noticed my Manitoba plate and asked where that was. I said it was in Canada. He then asked where Canada was. Again, this is 60 miles from the border.

I'm from Winnipeg, MB and i've l lived all over Canada and the States. I always come back to Winnipeg. People are great and its inexpensive to live compared to other bigger cities. There's not many other places that have 4 such distinctively different seasons. I love all of them.
I don't get ppl that say MB sucks. Obviously you've either never been here or you have never opened your eyes to notice the beauty and diversity.
