The closing of these nuseries, in a time of financial unrest and threats of redundency for all the families involved, and those around the country is absoloutely ridiculous. And to quote we will keep ones open for "vulnerable families" is at least insane as surely in the present climate all above are indeed vulnerable. As it is proven that now more than ever both parents need to work just to stay at breadline level. And all this is without even touching on the single mums that use these nurseries as they wish to be working mums, and struggle between getting other children to school, then little ones to there trusted nusery before even battling puble transport to get them to work and then struggle again to do it all again at then end of a hard working day. And what about the job loses to all who work in these nurseries who face all the same problems but work hard enough that all these parents feel well supported that there children are well cared for at these nurseries, and all have banded together to keep them open.
WELL, all i can say "SHAME" on you Milton Keynes council to be looking at this area to save such a small amount of money, with such a high cost to peoples lives.
