taiwanese and chinese fishing and military boats ply Philippine waters for years.

chinese vessels damages the ecosystem of Philippines and they don't care.

it's a good thing somebody got shot. chinese must learn their lessons not to invade other country's territotry.
Philippine coastguard are just protecting themselves against ramming of those fishing boats.

chinese are land grabbers.

The Taiwanese vessel violated Philippine's territorial waters, together with another fishing boat, and it tried to ram the PCG ship.

The shooting was not meant to kill but to disable the fishing vessel.

According to the Manila Times:

http://manilatimes.net/

OK, rich Taiwanese steal Philippine's fish (and it is a poor country as it is), you try to ram their coast guard ship, and Taiwanese still complain?

How barbaric the Philippines is!

Not the first time that they attacked Taiwan fishermen who fish within the 200-nautical miles EEZ permitted under United Nations' UNCLOS! The South Taiwan Sea (Bashi Strait) is a traditional fishing ground for Taiwanese fishermen for centuries.

The Philippines has shot dead Taiwanese fishermen in the disputed waters repeatedly. At least 20 dead and many severely injured in the last 10 years.

In 2006, a Taiwanese fishing boat based in in Tai Tung (East Taiwan), was shot at by two Philippine marine policemen.

One Taiwanese fisherman was killed and one severe injury.

They are indeed a barbaric country, just read this news:

This kind of behaviour is no different to pirates at sea.

Johnny, some evidence please for the "20 killed" claim.

Knowing the Taiwanese, I think Philippines would have been obliterated by now, if that was really the case.

Why do Taiwanese always insist it is their EEZ? They are Philippine territorial waters! Batanes group of islands and the waters around it are Philippine territory. And why do you always invoke UNCLOS? You are not even a signatory of UNCLOS. Oh, I forgot, you are not part of the UN. Mad at the Philippines? Why don't you blame Uncle Mao and your compatriots in Beijing.

Look, Taiwanese fishermen stray into our waters regularly for one reason or another. Some are poachers, some are smugglers, some are just seeking shelter or refuge when there is a big storm in the Pacific. We arrest poachers and smugglers, Gee, of course, that's our job. But we also give refuge to distressed Taiwanese fisherfolk. This incident is most unfortunate. I don't like the idea of law enforcement people killing fishermen, who does? What pisses me off is your arrogance of humiliating our emissaries, calling us names and conducting war games near Batanes.

Taiwanese are very illogical, they are mad in philippine navy because of their own countrymen's wrong move, in the first place what is he doing in the philippine waters? Taiwan government must deal first with the one china policy before claiming any territoy, and must teach and discipline taiwanese people doing barbaric act against filipino workers who actually a big help in taiwan's business sector. Filipino workers are skilled workers. Why dont you declare war against philippines instead of doing barbaric act, hurting and humiliating filipino workers. Filipinoes are civilized people. Taiwanese? a bunch of immatures!

well...having seen lots of riots happened in sarswan against Korea, it is time for Korea gov to attack Taiwan island.

Maybe it would only take several hours for them to delete taiwan island from the world map.

But, they didn't....why?

For them, Taiwan is just a tiny insignificant state which never hold any key to make inpact on them. they just ignored.

If they send some their f-15K, then taiwan airforce will be melt down in a minute.

If they send their new version of Agies ship, the whole of taiwan navy will be sunken in no time.

If their tanks once land on taiwan island, they will soon put their flag on the top of Taipei cityhall!!!

But they didn't coz, they don't give a shit to sarswan~~

Pinoy....we also have to learn from Korea..
as they ignore sarswan..
we also should ignore sarswan...

sarswan is not even a country....

The Taiwanese government should just accept that the fishermen made the mistake first. They are in the Philippine waters, they should follow the Philippine law. It was an accident. They are just being immature when the Philippines already apologized and they act like a bunch of babies crying to their people.

The Filipino government should also man-up. They should be ready for all the OFWs that will be displaced if Taiwan would enact this new ruling. Since the administration are boasting of good economic standing, they should be able to provide jobs for these people.

The Philippines comprises all the territory ceded to the United States by the treaty of Paris concluded between the United States and Spain on the tenth day of December, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, the limits of which are set forth in Article III of said treaty, together with all the islands embraced in the treaty concluded at Washington, between the United States and Spain on the seventh day of November, nineteen hundred, and in the treaty concluded between the United States and Great Britain on the second day of January, nineteen hundred and thirty, and all territory over which the present Government of the Philippine Islands exercises jurisdiction.

These incidents would not have happened, if those fishermen went fishing in their territories. It was not the coast guards' fault, it was the fishermen's. Coast guards just did what they are expected to do, GUARD the COAST. Taiwanese should stop complaining, instead learn from this, just avoid fishing in Philippines' naturally abundant seas.
