China is afraid of Japan so there will be no war.

China is like a dog that barks but not bite.

I know that being a State Dept guy.

And Taiwan, ROC? What can Taiwan do against Japan?
Only beg for scraps since even ROC ex-president LTH who is also ex-CCP and ex-KMT cadre says Senkaku belongs to Japan.

Through my biking and teaching experience here mingling with the locals it's clear that guys here have no guts to fight besides they adore Japan just like me.

And Japan? Tokyo is really a silent superpower and still treats Taiwan as their colony.

Right now China and Japan are prosperous nations , but this can quickly change if the two nations go to war because global economy is extremely fragile. This can in turn effect other countries as well because China and Japan are the world's second and third economy. If global economy collapses , many people around the world will fall into depression. Not to mention much bloodshed and tears to countless of people. Peace , happiness , and prosperity can evaporate into thin air.

Another alternative when it comes to resources is to share and at the same time switching to alternative for electricity, gas, and oil before it run out. The fact that leaders of the two countries are warming up to each other and seeking peaceful is a cause for celebration because there is hope for a win-win result.

"Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei on Thursday criticized the visit on Wednesday to the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine by Liberal Democratic Party leader Shinzo Abe and other Japanese politicians, asking<<<<< why Japan cannot respect the feelings of its neighbors that suffered under Japanese colonization and aggression in the last century.>>>>> "

1. Japan was defeated by the USA, not China nor Korea so Tokyo still looks down on both Chinese and Koreans and only respects Americans.

2. Being a de-facto semi-colony of America, Japan
feels firmly strong and secure not to care about what China or Korea feels.

3. Emperor Ishihara proclaims that Japan did nothing wrong during the war just like fprmer colnizer, UK, USA, Spain etc. so why single out Japan only?

It seems the past is still on people's mind. But a lot have changed since world war II. Many players have switched sides. Enemies have become allies, and some allies are now on different sides. Why hold on to the past. If world war II still hurts many Chinese people, please let it out and let it go.
