So its begun. We now have the highest sales taxes and income taxes in the nation. The average citizen will pay more to live in this state than any other. As a result, people are leaving for better opportunities. After all, its not like California has such a great living environment.

BUT, rather than do something for the average citizen, the SOBs in Sacramento will give tax breaks to wealthy movie producers. Scr we the little guy as much as possible, but GOD FORBID a movie producer leaves.

Thanks Daily Breeze for not airing all sides of the largest tax increase in California's history.

Pay your taxes and shut up. You're lucky the producer keeps you in a job. Who do you think you are? Just vote Democrat and be thankful for what you have.

You're one of those people that thinks everyone who works in the entertainment industry is rich, don't you? Well, aside from the fact that you are completely wrong, you're also failing to consider all the small businesses that filming supports. Sets have to be built, costumes made and cleaned, lights, mics and sound systems purchased, powered and cabled, Furniture and set dressing bought or rented, actors and crew fed, fuel bought, hotel rooms paid for, etc, etc, etc. Oh, and let's not forget the tourism it generates.

No one complains that we should dump the computer industry because the CEO's make a lot of money. The film industry makes a convenient target because 1% of its workers are wealthy but it's a huge contributor to the local economy. It's also full of people making ordinary incomes. You might even be neighbors with one.

It's about time that the people who represent us in the State of California realize that we need to find ways to keep production jobs here. We all win when jobs are kept in California.

It's nice to see California trying to stop runaway production and creating more jobs in California.

Filmmakers can now purchase Tax Incentive Insurance and protect the tax credit that they expect to earn on film or television show in the the event they suffer a loss and fail to qualify for the tax credit. They can even be protected in the event of bankruptcy of the State of California.

Excellent point & post Formerly Really!!!
Transportation Services for the Motion Picture & Television Industry alone spends MILLIONS of dollars a year in Fuel, both gas & diesel for the Big Trucks.
Additional Contributions To Local Economy:
Big Trucks,(Tractors), & Trailers Registration Fees, Rental & Lease contracts with local Los Angeles basin rental businesses.
Picture Cars, these are the vehicles from motorcycles to police cars & ambulances, to pick up trucks, sedans & big trucks and trailers "Filmed" on camera. All these vehicles are procured from LOCAL BUSINESSES. Most are rented, and many are Purchased Outright from private parties advertising their vehicles for sale in local advertisements.
Oil, Tires, Service Parts, Body & Paint Shops, ALL LOCAL businesses are recipients of production managements payments for these parts, lubricants & services.
I know that their are many more benefits that our local economy benefits from this industry's Transportation Department alone. Anyone else in the industry care to ad?
We lost our Automotive & Aerospace Assembly manufacturing jobs years ago which also contributed GREATLY to our local economy. Many local business succumbed at the end of that era. Very very sad.
The Film industry is going to be the last big giant that if it fails will bring our local economy to it's knees.
WHO IS TO BLAME?
Our local city, county, & state legislative representatives have been on their knees for many many years "servicing" selected lobbyists to serve their own personal interest,(their wallets),like common street W_H_O_R_E_S.
Disgusting American traitors!!!

For all Americans!!!
This is how it works (many different variations will apply):
Illegal Aliens perform their 1st criminal act on American soil by sneaking across the border "uninvited". I will not include greedy anti-American business owners that "do" invite them for their Cheap Labor. Why? They, those that welcome Illegals to employ as a cheap workforce in my opinion are not true Americans. They are Traitors!!!
OK, so the Illegals sneak across and break the 1st law.
They have now sneaked their way to the front of the legal immigration line thereby disrespecting all other foreigners waiting their turn to be considered for legal entry & hopefully Naturalization.
Now they've shown no shame in their intentions at the onset of their criminal activity.
[***Click on my Best Friend German Shepherd “Siggy”, it will take you to my profile and see additional pictures I’ve provided to show what Sigfried did to an ILLEGAL ALIEN that “tried” to burglarize my property.]
Time to move on to obtaining fraudulent credentials for:
1. Identification
2. Employment
3. City & County Aid
4. Welfare
5. Education
6. Drivers License
7. Medical Services
8. Dental Care
9. Church Charities
10. Free Housing
11. Free Meal Programs for School Children
12. Free School Supplies
13. Free School Grants
And the List goes on & on & on...
Now they are In!!! And the criminal intentions & activity don't stop here.
Another Great Post, thanks

No wonder filmmakers leave LA, its getting Mexico here, illegal alien land! If you dont pay attention there will be a taco truck in the corner of the scene you are shooting...
I'm going to leave LA too, there's no future here, except for those who want to learn spanish and for LaRaza conventions
