Well, I'm here.

I'll state up front that I'm not an MMA fan but I'm not an MMA hater either -- don't know much or care much about it.

I do love boxing if anyone wants to chat about that. And I think most anybody who happens along either already knows or will figure out that I have a passion for pro wrestling.

Cheech is a good guy and I appreciate him setting this up. Not anybody better on topix that I've come across, so I'm sure this will do well under his stewardship.

Boxing is a great sport. I've been training in boxing a lot lately. Though, it's currently outdated. MMA is swallowing it. It was the pioneer of combat sports though.

Thanks, Saint. You are a great friend.
But, this is a thread where you can talk about anything. How your day was, wrestling, MMA, Boxing, anything. This is so I can keep in touch with Saint. I will never be on the WWE thread.
I can not belive those disrespectful asses on that thread. Sure, I agree with 1 thing: There is no proof she died. BUT, there is no proor she did NOT die. So once again, thanks Saint.

I used to manage and train amateur and professional boxers.

We did very well, won a lot of regoinal titles, etc. Farthest any one of my fighters ever went in the pros was to lose in a bid for the U.S. championship on TV. Had a heavyweight who was pretty good about to sign a big promotional deal but he got shot in a club -- he still did OK but was never the same. Cost him about a year and never got as strong again.

My brother coaches Deontay Wilder, the only U.S. medalist in the Beijing Olympics. He's a 6-foot-7 heavyweight who punches like a mule kicks. He'll be turning pro later this year.

I believe it's true. She did a post from her blackbery in the hospital and it was clear that she wasn't posting from her home computer. It's too elaborate to be a hoax, IMHO.

And if I were Randy the LAST thing I would do would be post a link to an obit -- it's possible Amy posted under her maiden name or even a false name (I don't use my real name) and nobody would believe it anyway, so what would be gained. And some of the people on that forum are so immature or downright evil that they'd probably find a way to start prank calling the family. I wouldn't put it past many of them.

You're a great guy, Cheech. Keep doing what you're doing. Like I said, I'm not an MMA guy but there's no doubt that MMA is very popular. Word will get around about this forum and you'll be doing a great service to fans of the sport.

Now, since this is a 'free forum' thread, I'll say this is my first day off in about 10 days and the only day I'll get off for another 10 days. I've been chillin' and relaxing except for washing a sinkful of dishes that piled up as my contribution to the household today. I'm sure my wife will be pleased, and probably surprised since that's usually her job.

So Randy posted a link to an obit? Do you have the link?
And good luck with the dishes, lol.

Randy did not do so and said it was out of respect to the family.

My wife was VERY happy with the dishes. It almost always pays to do the right thing.

That's awesome man. I try to work as much boxing as possible because I believe it's still the best sport for striking, even in today's world with Muay Thai, kickboxing, TKD, etc. I'm currently training under a 6th, 7th, and 10th degree black belt in an eclectic system of martial arts. It's essentially MMA, only with more in-depth martial arts essentials like kata, weapons, and battleground combat styles. I've sort of immersed myself in the world of MMA. My sisters finace' is an aspiring mixed martial artist(and an ex-marine), one of the guys who works out in our dojo gym is a legitimate heavyweight cage fighter, and another guy who works as our personal trainer is an ex-marine who is a serious badass. That's all in addition to the really talented students I study with, and 4 more additional black belts. If I haven't made it obvious by now, this is the reason I'm so very much into MMA.

Speaking of Marines, I had a female boxer who I trained and managed who was 5-7 and 111 pounds of you-don't-want-none. She was 5-0 with four knockouts against opponents weighing anywhere from 119 to 146 because it was hard to find anyone in her own weight class.

She joined the Marines when she graduated college, did her stint as an officer where she served honorably in Irag (as head of a demolition unit that blew up bridges and such) and was one of the very few non-medic female Marines who served on the actual battlefield (in fact her unit was often in front of the actual front, if you know what I mean, because they were doing search-and-destroy missions to cut off supply lines before the actual front line went into battles). She thought about boxing after leaving the Marines, but instead got married and now has her second child on the way.

I truly believe, and she does too, that she could have been a world champion female boxer within 2 more years had she not joined the Marines.

I used to spar with her and even though I never actually cut loose to hit her as hard as I could she hit harder than a lot of guys I knew who weighed 30-40 pounds more than she did. She also busted my nose a couple of times and busted the nose of every single male she ever sparred with. She was born with a right hand from hell and threw it straight as an arrow.

Had a very good weekend. Went to Athens, Ga., to see the Alabama-Georgia game.

Alabama is No. 2 in the polls right now. The SEC is too tough for this Alabama team to get through undefeated, so it's probably not a national championship team, but Alabama is definitely back in the hunt.

Others beware.

I seriously don't care about you.

Why don't you leave your hater stuff on another forum? Show just a little bit of class for once.
