Only one other show has come close to the Andy Griffith show and that is Seinfeld. Seinfeld had Kramer, Andy had Barney. Wow. I have lived to enjoy both worlds. We will miss you Don. RIP.

Growing up watching the Andy Griffith show was definitely a privilege. There is not a modern day show that comes close to illustrating the important values that this show does. We are so thankful that reruns exist! Our five and two year olds even enjoy watching the show with us. Our youngest will say, "I want to see Barney!" We have also enjoyed Don Knotts' talent in his movies and most recently his voice in the Hermie and Friends Christian story, Flo The Lyin' Fly. Our family will truly miss Don Knotts! May God bless him and his family that he has left!

I remember as a boy getting ready for the Kindergarten bus and setting the time to get ready by watching Capt. Kangeroo and then Andy Griffith. The part that was so wonderful about their show together is that everyone did what was right and just. As bad as things got for Barney, his friend Andy was always there to help him through the tough times - and just like in the show, it was Andy who said goodbye to him last. Having grown up in a town that could have easily been mistaken for Mayberry, it is wonderful these many years later to know that you helped America see what is great about its people. Peace to Don and his family and much love to Andy.

As a 27 year old I also watched a lot of reruns of Andy Griffith as a kid. If our country turned back to those good old values we would be better off. What a great show. Thanks Mr. Fife for your gift of entertainment.

Don K was the funniest guy EVER on TV....ever.

Does anyone know if any of the stations like TVLand or [email protected] are going to run a tribute?
