Uh... why should John Ritter get paid multiple times more than Suzanne at that time? Summers was an important component of the show, and was never as good when she left. She asked for fair and equal compensation and was fired in an ugly way for having the gall to ask for equal wages as an equal player. John and Joyce were the weak ones in the affair. If they'd backed her up, they would have all made a lot more money in the end.

sad wrote: <quoted text> Ironically, that remark is probably what drove the poor woman to drink. She signed on to be the girl who provided part of the sexual tension, and when they hired Summers, DeWitt became the third leg of the show. She stuck out only because she was not needed. Imagine being on a hit show where everyone knew it could go on without you, because you just weren't attractive enough. You go to work every day, and you know everyone knows it, but nobody says it. This is also why Hollywood too often turns essentially nice people into some kind of monster. Or slut, i.e..Britney Spears, Chritina Aguilera, Hillary Duff...need I say more.

Just like the Actors in "FRIENDS" now that was showing team players, "we all get paid equally, or we all bail" That's how they ended up Millionaires.

Hopefully she turns this publicity into getting some new roles after she pays her debt to society. Any publicity is good publicity in Hollywood; ask Robert Downey, Jr.

If they'd have just stuck together, and if DeWit had accepted Suzanne as "the pretty one," of the group, they could have all made some good money together. Instead, only Ritter made what was considered good money at the time, even though, profits-wise, compared to the windfall the producers made, he still got shafted. Summers wasn't even asking for that much more. It was a "we'll show THAT little girl" kind of issue, and Dewit, who was jealous of all the attention Summers was getting, nodded her head with them. She deserves to be a self-loathing drunk. Who could blame her?

Damn shame wrote: <quoted text>She was cute, but she was homely compared to Summers. Exactly right, but dewit just couldn't let it be. Watch the early episodes, then the later ones when image consultants tried to make dewit more sexually attractive. It just didn't work. She looked ridiculous. It was like tarting up your best friends goofy little sister.

This is just another reminder that fame is fleeting and that glorifing celebs is silly. Except for the money, they are just like you & me. Just ordinary people who make choices. Some good, some bad.

Oh my God she still has the same haircut. Just like "marianne" from gilligan, and "ellie mae" from the beverly hillbillies. They went into their seventies essentially dressed like a character they played in their twenties. Now it's "Three's Compnay: City Jail Lesbian Edition"
