Greatest show of all time. And I do not throw that phrase around casually.

Not that it matters at this point, but maybe in the show's last season it will finally get the appreciation it deserves from someone other than critics and a relatively small base of loyal viewers.

Saw episode 1 On Demand and I'm riveted again. Still have problems identifying everyone. It is a very convoluted show with many characters but so worth the effort. The young boys, Randy, Naimon, etc. are heartbreaking.

Taken as a whole, The Wire is the type of work that can be studied for years to come. I am consistantly amazed at the new elements of story and acting performances that shine through on multiple viewings. All the actors involved,David Simon, Ed Burns and the writing team of The Wire completely blow away anything being produced by Hollywood or network television. Watch seasons 1 through 4 and then try to watch any movie or drama of the same genre. "American Gangster, Law and Order, CSI, The Sheild, Training Day......et, al. The Wire is a groundbreaking work in the film and television medium.

Unbelievably true! The only downside to the Wire is that it highlights the many flaws in almost everything else on TV (especially any drama purporting to be a cop or law related show. Sheer brilliance.

If Emmy never recognizes this show, I won't be surprised. I mean, Boston Legal? At this point, I'd almost be concerned if it was nominated; shame to those who would mention it in the same breath as the other shows that typically get nominated.

I abosolutely love this show. It's one ofthe few shows that I've seen again and again and again and still get something from it.

I am really looking forward to hear what other projects this team have up their sleeves. It good to see such carefully considered, slow-burning drama on TV, that doesn't answer all the questions for you, or resort to numerous cliches.

It's a shame to see it go from our screens, but better to end on a high, not that I would have thought that they would have sold out any way.

bravo!
