There are 386 comments on the OpEdNews story from Jul 20, 2014, titled Response to Bill O'Reilly: Jesus Didn't Start a New Religion. In it, OpEdNews reports that:

Bill O'Reilly disputed the two main points of my recent HuffPost blog on his July 16 The O'Reilly Factor broadcast: My affirmation of Jesus' lifelong dedication to Judaism and my assertion that Renaissance art representations of Jesus omit his Jewish identity and thus falsify biblical history.

That's the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth: Jesus indeed did not start a new religion. He rather came to confirm Judaism which was his Faith and culture from birth. According to Matthew 5:17-19, Jesus came to confirm and to teach about the Law and the Prophets which in a word is Judaism. That's what Isaiah said: If we do not teach according to the Law and the Prophets, it is because there is no truth in whatever we teach. But Paul had a different idea. 30 years after Jesus had been gone, Paul came and implied that Jesus probably did not know what he was talking about because the Law was abolished in his cross. (Ephes. 2:15) Then, he confirmed to the Romans what he had said to the Ephesians that the Law had indeed ended with Christ. (Rom. 10:4)

What would a Jew know about the Law of Christ?

Not even nominal Christians know their Bible enough to defend Jesus as who he truly is, the only begotten so of Jehovah God, who was sent from heaven to earth to redeem or ransom all mankind.
Luke 4:43

Nominal Christians believe Jesus is god, and like it that way, that is why only a few will survive the end of this world, soon to be here.

Jesus most certainly did start a new religion, a true way of worshiping
Almighty God Jehovah, according to Scriptural direction, not the teachings of Jewish religious leaders.
Mark 7:7

That is why no one can worship the true God of the Bible, unless you follow the direction of Jesus, and use his name in ending your prayer to Almighty God Jehovah, so Jehovah God can answer your prayer.
John 14: 12-14

And no one can gain admittance into the visible earthly organizational family of Jehovah God, unless they are baptized in the name of Almighty God Jehovah, and the name of Jesus, and the name of the Law through Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19,20

..... Only those are Christians who follow a Christ's lifestyle and teachings, ignoring all others.
..... It seems that Jesus was a Jewish Social Reformer who helped many people. Many things were invented after Jesus was crucified and all of those should be ignored.

You are entitled to your opinion, but like all your posts, you are far from knowing anything about the Bible or God, or the relationship between the Jews and Jehovah God.

Jesus Christ was sent from heaven to the earth, his existence in heaven was the only begotten son of God, the first and only created angelic son of Almighty God Jehovah. All angels have names and his angelic name is Michael. Jesus has a new name now, and no one on earth knows that name, he is known to us as the resurrected Jesus King of kings and Lord of Lords.

The Scriptures are the authority for Jehovah's witnesses, it is not our problem if you can't see the truth of the Bible, very few on earth are looking for accurate knowledge of the Bible. Only Jehovah's witnesses are able to help the meek survive the end of this world.

Well, all of these posts just go to show that all religion is nothing more than a medium of unending argument about things that cannot be proven.

Might as well be discussing extraterrestrial aliens and what they might look like and whether or not they care if we exist.

Well, that is simple to answer, they do not exist, therefore they cannot care.

Same for religion.

Folks who are religious are just trying to carve out some kind of justification for their existence and trying to be sure that they are right and anybody who disagrees with them is wrong.

It does not create Harmony or joy for anyone other than those who happen to be in power for that particular religion. And those in power abuse it.

It is a waste of time, money and thought.

It also causes wars and does way more harm than good.

I am in doubt that Jesus ever existed.
I think it was a story that just spread and spread.

jesus was ajew preaching to jews to follow the laws of Moses even closer.

the kingdom of god he preached for was here on earth, where the twelve tribes of israel rule once again over an ethnically cleansed Israel ...jesus would have wiped christians from the face of his land...

he never claimed to be son of any god, that whould have been heretical to his teachings...it was Paul, who never met jesus who said that. jesus' brother james, and the rest of the apostles who carried on his ministry 's sent missionaries to Paul's congregations to tell them it was heresy and to stop..

it is funny how little religious cult freaks actually know of their own religous cult. christians are actually follwing a cult started by Paul a man who never even met jesus and who jesus would have called a heretic.

most histor believe he did actually exist, but was not born in bethlehem, that was clearly concocted for the bible prophesies and has absolutely no backing, even goes against the historical facts.

the dust of his bones surely lie on golgotha where all roman traitors crucified ended up after their bodies were left ot rot on the crosses...

Jesus, most certainly, did start a new religion. He was not the living God of Israel or his Messiah. He was a false prophet who made many outrageous claims and tried to lead the children of Israel away from their God. Deut. 32:17 "They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not". The God of Israel is alive and Jesus died the "death of the uncircumcised" (Ezekiel 28:10) and remains dead. He did go to heaven though, and has been reincarnated and will face the judgment of God.
