Sick leave is abused by everyone, especially is the State and Political employment fields.
Check out all the state supported non profit sub contractors. Another way the state holds down it's hight employment roll. Check the DOC sub contractors. Look @ "THE CONNECTION" in Middletown.

I believe her. I also believe she should pay for her mistake, but not with her job. She absolutely did nothing immoral, especially in this country and this day and age.

Look around you. Everywhere you turn sex is being used to sell products and services. Appearing on a subscriber funded, adult comedy show in a bikini is mild in comparison.

Good luck, young lady.

Bullshit she wasn't pressured to resign. I hope she fights it and wins, she did nothing wrong.

It's not like she did a naked photo shoot. She was in a bikini. Plus, from what I here she does a great job with the kids.

"Sick leave is abused by everyone"
Not true. You can speak for yourself, but not for me. And because it's abused by 'everyone', our children's role models should show them that lying is ok?

Everyone is entitled to sick days. You shouldn't have to explan WHY YOU ARE SICK! Christ! What's the point of paying dues to her teachers union?

I'm very glad she is fighting this! The board took advantage of the situation and she was coerced into resigning. Let her acknowledge her mistake for taking the day and move on. We have so few people who are willing to teach - especially ones (like Mrs. Jarry) who by ALL accounts is an excellent educator.

The board should be ashamed.

YOU GO GIRL!
If I had ten cents for every sick day I ever took when I was "sick"...whoa baby. Good teachers are in short supply..if she dosent get her job back I will send her an application for our town. we have both a sense of humor and a value of mind your own bussiness!

Let me say something. Our Board of Education stinks, They are not fair or reasonable at all. The only reason why people work for the Board of Education in Southington is because of the kids. The board never makes us feel appreciated or valued.

I listened to her segment on the Howard Stern show, and she was going to use the money to pay for masters degree. A degree that she needs to keep teaching.

I hope she gets her job back. I thought Bullying wasn't allowed in the schools or the school systems? Were the children subjected to it NO. Were they on the show with her NO. Give it a rest GIVE HER HER JOB BACK with a full apology. What is wrong with some people? I would love to have her teach in Ansonia there are only a few really good teachers here.

Howard Stern does not have a good reputation for family content on his shows to say the least. To go on his show was a very poor decision especially for a teacher. Teachers have a responsibility to set a good example for children which she did not. Contractually, depending on the town, using a sick day is fraud which is grounds for termination. Even if she used a personal day, depending if she had to disclose the reason for taking it, her decision to go on Stern's show was the wrong one.

Get over yourself honey, nobody is perfect. The fact of the matter is that at some point in our lives we all stretch the truth, fib, whatever. She should not have lost her job because of this, a reprimand and no pay for the day?, sure, but she lost her CAREER over this.

Where does it say that you actually have to be sick to use a sick day?

It's the Howard Stern show they are worried about. Doesn't look good to have someone take a day off from the kiddies to go on that crass idiot's show.
