Ellen DeGeneres named new American Idol Judge

Ellen DeGeneres wants to represent the people on "American Idol," but the people are split about the talk show host's role as the Fox singing competition's fourth judge.

Ellen, replace Paula? Never! The choice doesn't make any sense, an average middle-aged female? A comedian? Ellen must be a buffer replacement until negotiations for an un-named big talent, someone they really want signs on the dotted line...

I like Ellen but my husband & I cannot see her as a judge on idol; but I guess it does not matter because after last years show and Adam got cheated out of the win we now believe the show is on its way out and we won't be watching it anymore. How anyone could have watched that show last season and picked Chris as winner over so many more talented people that were contestants is beyond me; don't misunderstand we liked Chris but he did not have enough talent to win.

I like Ellen. She's very funny and she's not a bad dancer but what qualifications does she have to judge a singing competition?

The innocence of the show has been lost forever…What a stupid mistake to make Ellen DeGeneres a judge on a family show! If she wasn’t a lesbian she wouldn’t even be popular. Her claim to fame is her sexual life style choice. All I know is that a lot of hard core Idol fans are saying that they could care less about the upcoming season! If FOX was smart they would change their minds about Ellen DeGeneres.

It’s kinda like the “Biggest Loser” when they keep bleeping out Jillian saying the F-word. I can’t even let my children watch that show anymore and Now American Idol is in the same boat!
