The logic applied here by the Brits is the same logic they used when they banned personal ownership of handguns. They banned guns and the thugs switched to knives. They'll ban personal carry of knives and the thugs will switch to clubs and pipe wrenches. In the end, they'll be banning closing one's hand into a fist.
Until they address the underlying cultural problem(s) that breeds violence, they will never resolve this issue. It's never about the weapon or type of weapon. It's about a culture that accepts violence as the norm.

Exactly. Murderous people will find a way to commit murder, with guns, knives, bats, screwdrivers, a rope, their hands, etc.

Nanny politicians like Emperor Bloomberg focus on inanimate objects to obscure the ineptitude of their own policies, parole boards, and criminal justice system which coddle violent criminals. It makes it seem like they are doing something.
