'The Bachelor' accused of racism and will face lawsuit

Apr 17, 2012 Full story: New York Daily News 180

ABC's hit reality dating series "The Bachelor," and its offshoot "The Bachelorette," are facing an impending class action lawsuit after two bachelor hopefuls were turned away from the auditions - presumably, they claim, because of their race.

This is so petty. You can't force interracial dating. I think these guys were just looking for a reason to sue, but this is pointless. People have the right to date the race they prefer. This show will look like an affirmative action mess when token blacks start appearing on camera and smiling like someone really wants them there. It's degrading to sue just to force someone to date you on television.

First of all if the BACHELOR OR BACHELORETTE only wants to date white people that is their business! What's wrong is that the show has never had a black bachelor that's why I don't watch the show to begin with.

So if they win this lawsuit and the show casts them, then they are booted in the first round (or whatever happens), are they then going to file another lawsuit against the girl because she didn't want to date them?

I think you miss the point. They're suing because they allege they weren't given the opportunity to audition for the show. That's a different question from suing to force someone to date you. If that was the case, I would agree with you. Whether or not their suit has any merit is of course another question.

Oh boy.
Here we go again.
Something that has nothing to do with negroes has offended these hypersensitive sissybtches. How much money is it going to take to make THESE crybabies feel better about being colored?

Amazing. You negroes want blacks-only everything including this forum, yet you sue every time we exclude you from something.

What type of message is that? That's the white knight in shining armor and the white man is suppose to be the ideal or "every woman's" dream come true.
The Bachelor’ to Introduce First Black Bachelor?!(Video ...
Anyway, since the beginning, the bachelor has been a white man. On the other hand, the women are pretty diverse. But the black women are usually eliminated early on.

Sorry but IR coupling on tv is very common nowadays.

Plus if the ww were so offended wouldn't they be the ones to file a lawsuit?

Otherwise, this just sounds like sour grapes. Maybe the women and men who participate on the Bachelor tend to not go for blacks or maybe the audience for the show isn't really mixed enough to appreciate that type of diversity. Either way..this lawsuit, so far..seems very silly.

I'll bet the two black "men" suing both look like "transgendered" freaks of nature, too.

That reasoning is very simplistic imo. So what if there aren't any black bachelors?? Like why does there have to be a black equivalent to every single thing in this country..doesn't make sense. First off the audience for "black" things is very limited because they are a minority group. It's not that many blacks in this country so to air something like that on primetime would most likely fail because it's not mainstream (majority).

It's this kind of silly stuff which makes blacks as a whole look like fools. Now unless there is some real damning information not released yet (and i can't imagine what that would be) this lawsuit is silly.

of course we want our forum to be without ignorant racists like you! Trailer park double wide opinions don't count to me anyway. I don't mind nice white people coming to the forum but just like the BACHELOR is a prejudice show you have your ANGLO forum But it must be boring cause you always here. But then again we need the racists to come for entertainment and trollin it continues to show your hateful soulless bodies controlled by evil

I wouldn't watch it even if it had a black bachelor. Why people would want to expose themselves on trash tv like this is beyond me.

Of course they got rejected - they're black for God sake! What's not to understand? Go get your own bachelor show! You can have it at a KFC!

they did get to audition. They are upset because their auditions didn't take as long as others.
