some martial arts techniques can murder, cripple and maim people.

about the development of martial arts as self defence arts, the next stage would be a good idea: to modify the very lethal techniques to be less lethal, however the techniques should still remain effective.

like taekwondo and judo.

taekwondo and judo are not lethal.
but taekwondo and judo are effective.

but unlike taekwondo and judo ( which have entered the Olympics games ),
i personally prefer most martial arts styles not to be entered in the Olympic games.

i personally prefer most martial arts styles to focus on self defence application and helping people to be able to defend themselves.

a good idea for the next step in martial arts as a self defence art, some very lethal techniques should be modified to be less lethal, however those techniques should remain effective.

examples in modifying some very lethal techniqes to be less lethal, however those techniques should remian effective :

1. punches that knock out your attacker.

2. very powerful punches to your attacker's chest that will hurt your attacker so your attacker will stop attacking you.

3. throwing your attacker to the ground. similar to judo practitioners throwing their opponents to the ground.

4. hitting your attacker where it hurts ( but does not cause much damage to them ) so they will stop attacking you.

5. tripping your attacker to fall on the ground.

6. putting your attacker in a submission hold.
