#1 Jan 21, 2010

I hope someone will think like me and try to understand the failure of United Nations Organization in checking humanitarian disasters in the 21st century!
How in this world will an organization like UN that has more than 100 countries on her registrations card still checking how best to distribute foods, water and so on to victims of earth quake in Haiti after one week!
This takes me back to Wenchuan county Sichuan province in China. There was announcement about a terrible earth quake with 7.6 magnitude and mod slide in Wenchuan County on 12th of May 2008; it was a huge shock to everyone in China as all we are expecting was the light of Beijing Olympic.
As senior government officials are visiting and comforting the victims, the premier Mr. Wen Jia Bao take no time at all in getting on the plane and got there to console the people and promised them better life. The government dispatched large contingent of men from the police, army, air force and the navy to help in searching and distributing aids to the victims.
To cut the story short,in no time at all everything went under control. They built temporary homes, distributed foods, water, toiletries and people of Wenchuan County and Sichuan province in general accepted their destiny and life goes on.
I havent been to Haiti but I was in Wenchuan County to see what the terrain look like. It was a hilly landscape with high hill of sedimentary rocks and villages are divided into different settings. Dispatching aids to the victims
was a real hard work.
One week after the earthquake in Haiti UN and her donors are still contemplating on airdrop or land dispatch! The population of Haiti is just 9.7 million people; Sichuan province has 86.64 million people.
Now, survival struggles in Haiti has been labeled as looting. I imagine where in the world people will stay without food for one week and see the food without rushing to get some shares.
The situation in Haiti has shown once more of United Nations Organizations failure and I hope we can think together maybe we have something to learn from the Chinese in checking humanitarian disaster in the 21st century.
Thanks to BBC international for a wonderful coverage.

What a windfall this disaster will be for the corrupt Haitian government. If I were a yacht broker, I'd be making appointments with the entire ministry right now.
