'Sex And The City' Film Review: Bloated blabfest strictly for loyal fan base.

As someone only casually familiar with the franchise, I anticipated seeing a sophisticated romantic romp revolving around four best friends who candidly confide in each other about the state of their love relationships. But what I found instead was a bloated blabfest featuring a few of the most shallow, middle-aged females imaginable, immature material girls commenting about men, money, baubles and designer clothes in a flip and superficially manner.

So yes the movie was an amazing tribute/reunion of the show (i loved the beginning, it made me want to cry) and didn't disappointed the fans. However, i did meet people that really enjoyed the movie even though they had never since the show (some were guys)
The movie was great. and the friendship between the girls was the most amazing part. I think that the critic of this movie went into with preconceived notions and did not appreciate the movie because of that.

Saw it yesterday and loved every minute of it. It had it all: Sex, nudity, laughs, break ups, make ups, great clothes and it was not entirely predictable.

As for the naysayers, if you weren't into the show and you don't have any connection to the characters, you probably missed the little nuances that fans love about each of the women.

Personally, when Charlotte tried to run around the limo in her mermaid dress while scowling at big, I howled like a school girl and then when she pooped in her pants-forget about it. I was gone!!

It was the best two hours I could have asked for and well worth the wait.

You're all missing the point- SATC isn't SUPPOSED to be loved by everyone. The true blue fans of the show (me included) simply"get it". All the haters we don't want there anyway. By the way, after seeing the movie this weekend, I started rewatching my favorite episodes on DVD- then last night I watched Brothers and Sisters on ABC. I'm telling you, after the grittiness of SATC I just couln't get into Brothers....it just seemed so artificial! As for all these guys calling SJP ugly, I'd love to see what their wives, mothers, sisters look like. Probably DOGS!

She's not bowlegged. She has great legs and she's cute. No one ever said Streisand was pretty, but she's still considered sexy. Eye of the beholder I guess.

The movie was great. Go see it with someone you love and you will be guaranteed "Sex in the Burbs" when you get home. There is something for EVERYONE to look at in this movie and plenty of laughs. Well worth the price of the ticket.

A lot of 'boys' have trouble with women who are extremely successful and earn more money that God. It's an ego thing. Believe me, if she thought she needed work, she could afford the best plastic surgeon money could buy, but why would she? To make someone else say, "OK she's pretty now"? Pathetic.

Sarah J Parker shops at second hand shops to keep her kid grounded. She's good people. Lay off the criticism. Not everyone wants to look like Barbie just so they can please the horny boys, who BTW, usually aren't anything to write home about themselves.
