This show is FAKE. Maybe everyone but me knows this, but I just started watching recently. That black girl England is an actor. she was in another show that didn't go anywhere. I don't know about Jay (the bald guy) I think he might be an actor too. I saw one episode where they found some weed in a house and it was not real weed, the color was way off and they had it blurred out. Why? You can show marijuana on TV. Because it wasn't marijuana! Then they found some coke and the bag busted and it went all over them, and they didn't say a word about it. England was covered in cocaine supposedly but it looked more like talcum powder and she didn't seem to mind. I've just noticed a lot of stuff like that, I think it's all fake, just like Operation Repo and whatever that other show is...all TruTV shows are fake. they suck balls.
No wonder their motto is "Not Reality, actuality" now what the hell does that mean???

Tru TV needs to change it's name. To Not really Tru TV. These shows are not even entertainment.

Yes southern fried stings is a re-enactment. Does this mean its not real? No it doesn't. These situations on the show have happened in real life. I know this because my dad works for Tru TV. The only show on Tru TV that is taped on sight is operation repo. So for you people that think it is fake, your wrong because its the only show that has any reality to it.

The shows that are reenactments clearly state in the beginning that they are based on actual events. I find Southern Fried Stings to be rather entertaining, even if they are actors.

Even if this show is based on actual events, how would we know it? The stories are so basic (wife suspects burglery, turns out to be husband with hookers (and why would someone hire 3 people to install cameras in their business and set up a sting? Security cameras are very inexpensive and you can monitor them from home) and the acting is TERRIBLE. This is just a poorly scripted show for the lowest common demoninator. This crap show and the Repo show made me swear off TRU for good.

that's funny considering there's a disclaimer at the beginning of operation repo saying how the scenes are re-enactments. you'd think working at tru tv you'd know that

Another thing that gives away the fact this show is fake is that anytime the " jay team" does survelliance on a car, the cars emblem is always covered w duct tape. I mean really!! If ur stakeing out someine ur not gonna ask them if you can duct tape their chevy logo in their car. And yeah, the episode where the cocaine flew all over them... complete bullshit

Almost every show on TruTV is not actual footage (with the exceptions of the clip shows such as Most Daring, Most Shocking, and World's Dumbest, and COPS). Many of the other shows are re-enactments of STORIES staged and set. These include Southern Fried Stings, Operation Repo, All Worked Up, Lizard Lick Towing, Hardcore Pawn, and Big Brian the Fortune Seller. While Hardcore Pawn, Lizard Lick Towing, and others are actual businesses and jobs, what you see on the show is not actually happening. You can tell by many flaws and horrible acting. For instance, you see the "situational characters" seem to appear in multiple shows with different names and sitiuations. If you notice that in Lizard Lick Towing/All Worked Up, they have repo'd from what appears to be the exact same house for four different cars and four different owners. A&E and other networks do many similar things such as with Storage Wars. Some shows have better actors than others. Whether you believe the stories or not, they are entertaining; however, you can not call this reality TV just because it is SUPPOSEDLY A TRUE STORY. Reality TV is ACTUAL FOOTAGE, which most of these clearly are not. Take it for what it is......a show.

Southern Fried Stings is FAKE !!!!!!!!! The plots are far fetched and none of this stuff has ever been in the news. Just Like Operation Repo, Lizard Lick Towing there is always something wierd happening and especially for the cameras. Would be nice to just have the "TRUTH" being shown.

I just watched the show for the first time today and after about one episode I questioned the realness of it. What got me was the one episode where police arrested a fake pregnant girl at a sex shop for stealing. Well the police car had "Police Department South Carolina" on the side. No police car has the state listed on the side unless its a state agency. A state agency wouldn't be involved in a petty theft case. It may be an entertaining show but its fakeness is a turn off.

Yes, and in some episodes, they only send one Police Officer. In the one where a Ex Special OPS guy was running Guns, they did not even send SWAT when the guy had Assault Rifle and SMGs, and the cars involved are Grand Marquis, not Ford Crown Victorias. Police Agencies use Crown Vics(Police Interceptors). A local PD sent SWAT when they had a Suspect barricaded in his home with only a 12 gauge.

I actually liked watching this show till now that I just saw a few episodes that you can show how horrible the acting was. Theres one episode where a person tries to be Jay and they both get hit with a beer bottle. Worst acting ever! Never watching this crap again. Operation repo, lizard tow or whatever were the shows I actually liked it until the fighting scenes were so stupid, who the hell just shoves people. No punching, no smashing faces. They make it seem like something real is going down and all they so I some stupid shoving around. Real life is not like that.

I am so glad to see I'm not the only one who realized immediately this was NOT real. I agree these situations may be real, but it's most definitely a re-enactment show. I have no problem with that, but why not advertise it that way. Even the blood looks fake when the dude loses his toes in a trap. Pretty good shows, but the "actors" are hilarious!!! lol

I don't believe these are reenactment of any case files. One thing is I know of no county down south where a southern police department would allow non law enforcement people to do what these idiot are doing.
Plus I can't believe that any southerner would allow this bald headed fool to run up and do to them what it shows he does without getting a load of buckshot up his butt, or a bunch of good old boys taking him out into the cow field or to the barn and showing them they are not as bad as they think they are.
Southern Fried Stings is fake all the way and it has no re-enactment to it is 100 percent fake.
