Hard to pick sides in this fight. Few organizations can match the tv and film media when it comes to avarice, while Klugman is a chazar!

The TV and movie studios have the slimiest accountants. They can make a movie for say $10million, and spend another $2million on promotion. Then say it takes in $30million in its first week, and maybe $150 million in its run in the theaters. They can still come up with ways to show that the film lost money, to prevent paying off on profit sharing clauses of stars' contracts.

If Quincy was such a money loser for the network, why did they run it for so long? Why is it still running in syndication and in Germany?

If the studios lost as much money as they say they did on everything, there would be no Hollywood, no movies, no TV. They would all be out of business.

You go, Jack!

I think he is the last one left from that great cast that played in one of the best movies ever made. "12 Angry Men".(1957)

Agreeing to a proportion of "net profits" is always a crap shoot and the house (studio) always wins because they always claim that expenses outstrip the gross.

Refusing the man a copy of the contract? That's low.
