Not that the History Channel could ever be depended upon for
accurate history, nor are most of its shows remotely
relevant to the subject, but Pawn Stars is one of them that
claim to have such relevance. Problem is, the pawnbrokers seem a
lot more adept at taking advantage of people in need of money
than at doing history. For example, Rick, who obviously considers
himself knowledgeable about history, recently claimed that "the sinking of the Lusitania caused the US to go to war." Not even close, Rick. The Lusitania was sunk in May of 1915. The US declared war on Germany in April of 1917, because of the sinking of two US (not British) ships and the Zimmerman telegram. Rick also claimed that Lincoln was a great President because "he guided us thru the Civil War and freed the slaves." Also, not even close. Lincoln's premeditated action to provoke the Confederacy ignited the Civil War. Without Lincoln's scheme, there would have been no Civil War. That is patently obvious simply by inspection of
public opinion North and South after the deep Southern states
had seceded months before Lincoln took office. In carrying out
his mad scheme, Lincoln had committed a blunder of the first magnitude : his insane actions e had driven powerhouse Southern states Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee out of the Union, thereby doubling the power of the Confederacy and guaranteeing a very long and very bloody war. Lincoln's war killed more Americans than all of her other wars combined. Lincoln even bragged about how well his scheme had worked in producing a shooting war. The
Confederacy was a far freer and more democratic that Lincoln's Union, which, in effect, eliminated the judicial system, replaced by military tribunals and political prisoners. Seldom was anyone thrown in jail charged with any crime and habeas corpus was abolished, as were freedom of the press and freedom of speech.
No one would prefer living under Lincoln's totalitarian regime
rather than the Confederacy, where human and civil rights still
existed, except for the slaves. But then, slavery still existed
in the North as well during Lincoln's regime, and his Emancipation proclamation did not free them either - the proclamation only referred to slaves living in Confederate controlled territory.
In effect, it freed no one, even if it had been a legal act, which it clearly was not. Its true purpose was to incite a slave revolt in the South. This time, Lincoln wasn't successful.

Basically, the show is a fake. There may be a few real transactions going on, but everything else is scripted. Corey, the poor dumb-ass, has to read off of a teleprompter to even come across to the viewers as being creditible. As for th the old man, someone should have knocked him on his ass a long time ago. Chum Lee is one chromosone away from being a retard and Rick, well, Rick is what he is, sort of intelligent, but mostly rich becuase of people's stupidity.

That Cory is nothing more than an arrogant, disrespectful, tattooed, fat recreation of Eddie Munster, only difference is Eddie Munster had far more class. They would never air it, but I would love to see someone knock his wannabe ass on the floor, it wouldn't take much. I can't see how they can stay in business the way he treats customers, but I guess ripping them off with unrealistic offers helps. The spoiled brat needs a serious "attitude adjustment."

I cannot stand Corey. He is one nasty dude and someone needs to take his fat ass out back and give him a good old fashioned ass whipping that will wipe that smug arrogant look off his fat face.

I guess the only real answer to any of our problems with the show would be to just not watch anymore. I was just wondering if anyone else was as tired of watching Chumlee as me. Sometimes I laugh at it but they've just crammed his idiocy down our throats. The show is just painful to watch whenever he does or says anything now. I know it's fake but i'd watch more if not for Chumlee. The guy is rich for doing absolutely nothing and for being dumber than a two year old.

Can somebody from the HISTORY CHANNEL please give rick a HISTORY lesson because several times he has implied that the U.S won the 2nd world war(Alone)and watching an episode tonight he stated that they (U.S) cracked the code for the ENIGMA MACHINE.

NO YOU DID NOT RICK so get your facts right before stating and making a complete and utter fool of yourself in front of the world....

The "CODEBREAKER" was a fella called Alan Turing who was POLISH working for ENGLAND and worked at top secret Bletchley Park(England)during the war.

YOU love to claim many things as your own but on many occasions your history is laughable.

I have heard more untruths about history than truths from these friggin' idiots on Pawn Stars. History Channel should edit that show alot better because half or more of what they say about history is flat out wrong. I was watching a show last night where Corey said by 1933 America was coming out of the Great Depression. 1933 was probably the depths of the Great Depression you ignorant fat slob!!
The 'Old Man' is only 71 years old and he looks and acts like he's 91. He's a friggin' slob. As a matter of fact all of the Harrisons are disgusting fat @ss white trash slobs who got lucky with their show.
Corey especially is aggravating. He's some [email protected] wannabee that think his tats make him some kind of motorcycle stud. He's a pathetic coddled fat pig and doesn't know crap about history to boot. I can't even stand to look at that greasy slob without wanting to puke. Hey dood...you have lots of money, enough to blow thousands on cars and motorcycles but you can't drop $50 for some acne medicine?? I mean Corey's face looks like he washes it with n lard! Huge fat zits all over his greasy face, he's just disgusting!

As a matter of fact the whole show is disgusting, historically inaccurate and is insultingly stupid for anyone with half a brain. History Channel use to be a decent channel, but it's succumbed to the stupid 'reality' craze for the white trash Americans.

chum the rich slob. i'm looking for a decent show but in the pawn time slot there are none. the only reason i'll tune in and out of this joke is to see rebecca a good looking and smart woman. you can see rick drooling over her and sometimes the slob chum the overacting slb tries to come on to her. makes me sick and want to change station, i do. find another show to view with no slobsremember you can't shine shit.

you can't shine chum. get the slob off the show. he even came on to rebecca, the only reason i watch. rick drools over her and know that slob chum does the same. answer turn it off plain and simple. maybe the producer ric will get the hint. too bad it was a good show at first before being taken over by the slob chum. i'll watch wrestling instead..

I agree with every bit you wrote. I cant stand the show or anyone on it. They are real life jerks. Not one has enough class to be allowed into a restaurant with tablecloths. Rick claims to know history...,hahahhahahH. Hes the biggest joke of all when he starts spouting his half assed knowledge. Hes gets bits and pieces right of what hes memorized but he gets most mixed up with other historical events. But this Corey? Ugh what a huge crock of b.s he spouts. He thinks hes just all that and more. His looks, his handshake, his ego. How the hell this show stayed on tv for more than one season i have no idea, but i do realize there are many many ignorant people. If i saw any of these morons on the street i would cross. I hope the show is done soon and they find something worth watching like Cajun Pawn Stars....anything but these loud obnoxious morons who claim to know to know ao much. Yeah right.

your quote is right on. the worst of the worse is rick. he is rude, he is stupid, he is a disgrace. he takes delight in ripping up the poor dumbo who brought something in to sell. he never lets the drop in customer get an inch in the war if selling/buying. besides that, his son is is just as bad. you have to learn how to forget the old man.

would the show be better without rick? yes. actually, the whole show is awful. move on.
