You could have saved some money and hassle by putting an inexpemsive dipole antenna on your roof and broughjt in a lead-in wire t your TV set. But then you might have fallen off the ladder any really have something to gripe about.

Poor David. Time to join the 21st century. Toss the St. John's Wort, finish the last of that Butter Brickle ice cream and ditch those rabbit ears. Why not watch your favorite episodes on the web? Networks are so verklemped by changing demographics and diminishing market share that they'll try anything to get viewers to watch a new commercial, which by the way keeps us gainfully employed at www.m2multimedia.com .

Check out this link. http://websearch.about.com/od/imagesearch/a/f... .

For those unfortunate enough not to have access to a computer...go to the library. It's free with library card. I'm told Silas Marner: The Weaver of Raveloe is a good re-read.

What happens if you already have a HDTV. How do you get channel 7 configured on its digital format?

I live in the middle of LA, nowhere near a hill, and I couldn't get channel 7 either. And ABC is my favorite network!
So I'm grateful for your Ch 53 suggestion. It's still piss poor reception and the signal goes in and out, but it's better than nothing, which is what I had before.
What's strange is I had ABC for a good week or so when I first got the DTV box, and the ABC signal was always plenty strong when it was just an antenna

I got sick of being told buy this, buy that, get cable, etc. I threw my TV set out.

Now I watch DVDs on my computer and I read books.

There is life after television.

I'm sure you'll get a lot smarter because you did. There's nothing good on cable anyways. Except Lost of course!

The best thing to do is buy a new TV with the ATSC tuner included. I bought my digital TV 3 years ago and it has one.
If your budget does not allow for a new TV, try something like this!

MYC-U3100MINI] ASUS USB2.0 Digital TV Tuner ATSC/QAM
You plug it in to your existing antenna and away you go! You can even record through your PC with this thing!

The channel will show up as soon as the station starts broadcasting in digital. If your television supports ATSC, then go to the menu and do a search for ATSC channels, if it has been added it will work. I am not sure if ABC transmits in your area. You're from Ontario, is there a local ABC channel in your area?
