An afterlife?? Are you kidding me??? The writers knew when they were going to end this entire series, spent years creating all this mystery and questions we THOUGHT were going to be answered. And is that what we got??
No. Instead we got lots of dead people and a crappy afterlife. All the years of anticipating the answers to the mythology, the exciting twists and turns, only to be slapped in the face with an afterlife, and no answers???
This is the kind of finale that turns people away from shows. All the invested time. Did I cry? Yes, but not because the story touched me, but because I was so mad and disappointed! Why did I waste my time only to have a head still full of questions at the end? The mythology and mysteries was why I started watching this show in the first place, not all the relationships. It was 80% of all the shows. Yet.......... nothing.:(

What if it was something different? What if the whole thing was the life flashback of Jack while he was dying after the plane crash? They say that you see everything in your life flash before you prior to your actual demise. After all, they started with Jack opening an eye and ended with him passing the plane with everyone dead, then lying down, the dog and eventually closing his eye.....hmmmmmm

jacks son? wats all that about did he not exist?
Jack had no son. In his other life it was all in his head. In the other life he is dead living in limbo untill he understands he is dead. He can continue with the limbo life or move on to the light.

In a world filled with a continual stream of BAD NEWS... all today's "newshounds" are a bunch of upset babies, because this series didn't have some ridiculously gory, special-effect laden, and of course, deadly NEGATIVE ending, instead of the "feel good -- Wizard of Oz -- no place like home" resolution that was presented... the "LOST" getting "FOUND"!...gimme a break!

Many of those complaining about "LOST" probably can't wait to waste $20 or more of their money, not to mention 2+ hours of their time, to see the next LOUSY (and "STORY-LESS") remake of "Halloween" or "Nightmare on Elm Street"!

As I saw it, this finale proposed that the entire story from beginning to end... was a vision that Jack Shepherd had as he was DYING... "LOST" began with him on his back just after the crash, OPENING his eyes ("surviving the crash"),...and ends with him (back) on his back... CLOSING his eyes ("dying from the crash")... Pretty doggone CREATIVE!

But then again, the music world produces garbage like Britney Spears or Beyonce, which could'nt have sold a record in the 60's... dance'em around in their underwear in a video, and poof -- they have a Million suckers, er, I mean, seller! Big surprise that the movies and tv are junk filled as well..

Btw...(and I don't care if anyone believes this or not) This story (at least season one) was filled with gleanings from an eBook My wife and I wrote in 1989 -- about a DISAPPEARANCE in the [Bermuda] TRIANGLE -- that was published on-line in 2001 (3 years before LOST was introduced). It was entitled "TRIANGLE, the Forever Road" (first book of a trilogy)... they should've asked us how the story ends...(maybe folks would've liked our ending better, but then again, the producers would've had to share some of that massive MONEY they made, with us! nah!)

In the end, "LOST" was as entertaining a tv show, as has ever been produced at any time by anyone... and now that its over, all anyone seems to be doing is complaining about the 6 years they wasted watching it!

Likely because now that this WORTHWHILE series is over,...they are left to watch such crap as "Sex in the City" or "Desparate Housewives" or MYRIADS of the available "KARAOKE" TV -- and modern TV CANCER --- the "reality" show -- which are made for idiots that don't have enough time to snoop around to see what their neighbors are up to, and get in on some REAL "reality". You'd think intelligent human beings would have better things to do with their time...

So long "LOST"... it was nice watching you!

Well, the finale was a bit disappointing. Protecting the light/plug! Will miss the characters/show.
