That was the lamest prank ever. They deserve their punishment. Should have done something out side of the school, not illegally went into the school at night. Whatever happened to seran wrapping the principals car? Innocent non illegal fun?

I do think the punishment was a little harsh and unequal, but they knew there would be some sort of punishment. I think the whole thing is stupid from the chairs to the principal. STUPID and un-newsworthy. The more these kids talk and laugh about it the more guilty they look. They should accept their punishment and get over it.

I bet the school will update their policy/rule book before next year to include that any and all pranks will not be tolerated.

I think maybe the principal has a bit of prejudice here. Maybe she should put her divorce from one of the student's uncle aside and make an unbiased and fair judgement. Suspension, yes. To take the last activities of their senior year is just wrong. I have to agree with something I read on Facebook earlier--had this happened during the basketball tournaments (which some of the kids played in) would she have been so quick to pass this kind of judgement? I doubt it.

I also think the schoolboard needs to grow a set. They know she is wrong but won't do anything about it.

Also, to make these kids sign something under duress is actually illegal. She'll be lucky if some of the parents don't hire lawyers and sue to school for illegally coercing them to sign "confession" papers.

They knew the risk when they decided to walk into the school and vandalize it. If this had been the "unpopular" students, then there would be no fuss about it. Damage or no damage, these eight students should suck it up and pay the consequences. Life isn't fair and after high school, it doesn't matter who your parents are or how much money/pull you have.

What this ALL boils down to is some kids pulled a lame ass prank, then immediately fessed up now they are some sort of victims that we should all "support". Maybe their punishment was harsh.... GOOD! I can remember the lessons I learned by how hard the whippings were that I recieved.
I can see that a few of the kids took their punishment and moving on... Kuddos to them.
Some say it's unfair to poor "Keg" because she had the most to loose. Boo fuckin hoo. It would have been handled a lot different if her obnoxious mother would have shut up.

Finally. Someone with some common sense. All the parents are doing is rewarding bad behavior. The administration is doing their job. SO JUST LET THEM DO IT.

It was a harmless Senior Prank no one got hurt nothing got destroyed and what I hear they came in early said they did it and put stuff back where it belonged vandals wouldn't of done any of that. And even if that last part is not true like I said before NO ONE GOT HURT NOTHING GOT DESTROYED. KIds aren't allowed to have any fun anymore. lighten up. I wouldn't call a harmless prank bad behavior either.

These 8 attention seeking brats got what they deserve. Get over it. If it had been 8 non popular kids no one would care. But these 8 are smart good kids!! Well then they should have been smart enough to know better than to think there would be no consequences!! Oh welcome to the real world!! Just because you have a key doesnt mean you can use it how you please... its for work purposes! They are all idiots. And the parents are the worst! Great examples we are teaching... if you dont get your way then just throw a fit til you do..m

So if someone entered your house without permission and moved all your furniture outside.. youd be ok with it? As long as they moved it back? No. Someone still illegally entered your home and messed with your belongings.

I understand that part just fine,I also understand that since "not damaging anything" hasn't equally been understood that "the key wasn't used for the purpose to what it was given to the student for" has not been accepted either.bottom line all these students are doing now is trying to throw a big enough fit because they didn't get they're demands to get a slap on the wrist and another thinks she's being targeted because her consequences were more severe because she should of had enough sense to not involve herself especially because of what she could lose.Argue it all you want, the morals of it all are pretty clear.

No because unlike you I can take a joke I have a sense of humor but most people around here don't have a sense of humor and cant take a joke if that happen to you y ou would call the cops have them arrested and the key thrown away lol so I wouldn't have a problem they had a key so that's not breaking any windows to get in the school or breaking down a door. when you think about it they were given a key from an employee of the school so I think that would be permission to enter the school.

I agree that if these kids were not popular/athletes whatever that no one would care. Parents need to let kids take their punishment and move on as for the principal she's doing a wonderful job standing her found not backing down because parents are throwin hissyfits had this been me, my dad would have told me I got what I deserved. Suck it up! Anita was an NHS panther for several years and we loved her!
Stand firm Mrs. Cook! You have more support than you know :) parents these days try and handle all their kids problems how will they learn f ou bail them out every time?

This is bull shit. When my kids went to that school my son got in trouble because he touched a girls butt playing freeze tag. Everyone in that town thinks they are better than everyone else. There not. I support the crazy 8. Its not like anyone was hurt or they hurt the school. Beside they got the key from the school. If that was Salem and something like this happened the kid would have a walk out. Fuck you calico rock.

Some of you don't understand that this had been a tradition at calico for years-- lasts years prank was the seniors throwing lots of bouncing balls in the hallway- potentially dangerous-- no one received any punishment at all-- maybe because the supers daughter was a senior! I think the 8 accepted punishment, however taking away prom and senior speeches was a little excessive! And coercion is illegal in the US, that is what was done to force the signing of papers--there are definetly 2 sides to every story but if they feel that the have been unfairly disciplined then they have every right to oppose it--
