while I did find that south park episode funny overall
I did think that the Dawkins-Garrison relationship wasn't anchored to anything in the story, nor did it have any point
th science/rational view does not need to flaky religious views to be justified
seriously, the episode where the B story was Cartman got people to eat in reverse, inserting food below and poo coming out the mouths, when the A stroy line was all the adults turning atheist to ensure their kids weren't molested by priests
was a much clearly and on point, point about miltoast atheists

I seen a connection....
At first dawkins found garrison to be like 'one of the guys' as a positive attribute.
Then look how 'rational' dawkins reacted when he found out garrison used to be a man... he acted in an irrational (and hypocritical) way.
Not that I think those guys attempt to make any real points, as much as create situations we can relate to so we can either laugh at (or... be insulted by).
But I think *one* point may be; no single person can ever be 100% rational in all situations - and because of that - conflicts will always be present whether they are over a groups name or land.
Assuming the 'anchor' point was (indicated by how the 2 part episode ended); 'some people will never learn - and will always be addicted to their desires'

so, it was really one of their weaker critiques then.
because that was hardly a stand out
sort of like the Penn & Teller Bullshit episode on NASA
they came up with reasonable critques, but it was still pretty soft.

The thing is - is there any basis Dawkins would actually react in such a manner??
Tho I am certain the most rational person on this planet is capable of irrationality in *some* situation.
We are after all, only human.
A weak point?? well, is it socially significant?- I am inclined to say it is.
Its the old 'know ones own limitations/weaknesses' lesson, which I think is important for positive growth.
But then again.... we may be reading way too much into some 'silly cartoon'.
I'd be interested in hearing the writer/creator's thoughts on that episode. Some of their stuff comes across to me as absolutely brilliant - for all I know its never intended.. lol

it's not like Ms Garrison was particularly hot enough to make anyone lose their mind
