What this fan of House needs is for the show to go back to its medical origins and end the soap opera before I become a former fan. House is such a mess, the only relationship he should be having is his friendship with Wilson.

I agree it will be too bad when Amber goes again. She was a good character, as were Kutner, Chase and Cameron. The good leave early on this show.

Actually I love the House and Cuddy relationship. Wilson is his best friend but he isn't the only one that matters to House.

Thank you, as ever, for getting it right. To those who call it a "soap opera" whenever we have characters interacting, what else is there to be interested in but the relationships between the characters? The medical puzzles are wonderful (when they are wonderful) from show to show. The writing and the clarity, both grand. But they're nothing without the context of characters and how they relate. That isn't soap opera ... that's life. But what has become soapish is the single-minded fixation on Huddy.

I'm so tired of the Huddy stuff, I've stopped watching. I watch the show because of the House/Wilson relationship. I have no problem with the House/Cuddy relationship, even the romantic one, but not to the exclusion of everything else I care about on the show. There's no sustained Hilson of any merit and a troubling plethora of "honest, they're straight!" scenes. I guess those are there for the homophobes who must make up the majority of their audience since they are the people they so clearly play to. So much for my intelligent, brave show.

I think Kutner will be back and that is what will put House over the top.
I don't think that Wilson and House are anymore than very good friends.
I sure will miss HOUSE all Summer.:(

I think the ending of Season 3 - getting rid of the old team - was the "worst and most shocking" thing to happen on this show, and I don't feel the show has ever recovered. Kutner was the only new team member that I liked, but I don't miss him nearly as much as I miss Cameron and Chase.

Yes, close it right! I've totally lost interest in this show and as much as I like Hugh Laurie (he was a wonderful Bertie), it's time for him to become British again and do some other character in the movies or tv.

House and Wilson are friends and that's where it ends. For the life of me, I can't see how anone can think it's anything but that. I've enjoyed the House and Cuddy storyline. They have been sniffing each other since the show started. Makes sense they would tackle it. Love the chemistry between the 3 main characters which is why I keep coming back for more.

House and Wilson is by far the deepest and most touching relationship on the show and the reason that i've keep watching house for 5 seasons- the house/cuddy relationship no matter how the show tries to push just fails by comparison.
Great article

So, are they going to get married? Seriously? And why?

It's sad that absolutely everyone--including the author of this article--seems to want to turn everything into a competition between Wilson and Cuddy for House's attention. True fans "know, really know" that the three of them are indivisible.

I appreciate coverage of my favorite show, but when the author can't put aside his own preferences long enough to write a less biased article, I find myself wishing he hadn't bothered. Thanks, anyway.

I'm thinking that scene between House and Cudy last week was another halucination on House's part.

Come on we all know house is either halucinating or in a coma or something. The last part of the season finale will prob have him wake up(or show him in the hospital)

Your diagnosis is spot on: House's heart, mind and soul especially do, and always will, belong to Wilson, the ying to his yang.
That said, Cuddy rings this man's chimes like no other female ever could. If fans are truly torn, it is a delicious battle, is it not!
Hugh Laurie's brilliance knows no bounds...and will continue into Season 6, even from a straightjacket!
Kutner? We don't need no stinking Kutner! Bring on the madness! Long live House!

I don't think we're going to get closure on Kutner. And I'm okay with that. I loved Kutner and I loved that they used KP's departure to tell a poignant story. Giving answers at this point is caving in-and I'm pretty sure they're not doing that.
Also, House loves both Wilson and Cuddy. Not one, not the other, both. That is canon. If you think anything else, you're letting your preference show. As a fan I know there's a great deal of regard for both of those characters (they have the largest fan-base of all of the characters on the show from what I've seen-aside from House) and the unique role they fill in House's life.
As for the rumors of marriage and House-that is just too funny. While I think it very true to what we've seen on the show and of what DS has said, that if House is capable of having a relationship (of that sort) with anyone, it's with Cuddy (Wilson has made statements to this effect as well), they will never go the conventional route on this show - ever. If House and Cuddy continue on the road they're on (and I sincerely hope they do) marriage isn't in the cards for them. I think they're meant to be apart together. Have what they have now, only intensified and with the tacit knowledge on both of their parts of what they feel for each other. Besides, House is going to finally snap in tonight's episode and Cuddy is scared of how much she let go. Neither is in a realistic position for matrimony at this point. JM 2 cents.

Anyone that thinks House is meant to be with Cuddy is off their rocker. HOuse needs some one that doesn't want to change him & doesn't throw a fit when House acts like House. Huddy is horrid. Always has been. Unlike Wilson in the last ep, Cuddy didn't even react to House hallucinating. I'm so tired of watch Huddy or even Cuddy. In this season she's had no other purpose, but to show up to flirt, get hit on, or (like last ep)do the deed. It's quite annoying..

House has been getting pretty routine lately anyway. House can't figure out the disease, someone says something to jar his memory, and bingo, some undecipherable latin disease is pronounced to cure everyone. The morbid storyline we see now at least changes that monotony up and made me look ofrward to Monday's once again.

Who cares about Kutner. His character wasn't that great any way. I'm glad to see Amber back on the program even if it's for a short time. Good luck to Kal Penn with the Obama administration. It should be interesting to see where Penn ends up once Obama is out of office.

This finale was a downer. You cannot have House and Cuddy so deeply interested in each other and then at the end say sorry Ha Ha jokes on you viewers. What an awful thing to do to loyal fans. I think I am a "former" House fanatic.
