I remember when these guys started their rip off of “Pawn Stars”. One of their first introductions made a statement that they did not need outside experts.

Look at the “Pawn Stars” spin offs. They are making a heck of a lot more money than the simple minded rip off that “Hard Core Pawn” is.

First spin off…. The restoration business…….
Second spin off…… Count’s Customs
I see Johnny being set up as the 3rd spin off as a toy show.

Hard Core Pawn…. Who would want to watch any spin off of this work?
It is not going to happen because the producers had no vision.

Detroit is the perfect city for this looser show to be focused on. A loser in a looser city seems appropriate. The man makes money, but how? He makes his money by exploiting the poor.

Family problems are their story line. No interesting items are displayed.
Who the heck wants to watch a dysfunctional family that preys on Detroit’s poor.
Not me.
I will be so glad when this show is replaced by re-runs.

Exploiting the poor? what other options do they have? if they have poor credit, no bank account, whatever the reason may be, where else can they go to make up cash to pay rent, bills, etc?

It's a business, and last time I checked, a business is in operation to MAKE MONEY, no one is forcing
people to go into Pawn Store are they? Not all involved are poor.

The family dynamics make up a certain aspect of the show, which is a bit entertaining, Ashley by far is THE most annoying female I've seen, know-it-all, overly emotional, bitchy... just plain irritating.

Overall the show is ok, 7.5 / 10 entertainment value - so different from other Pawn show in that there's a LOT more aggression, verbal abuse, and potential for physical violence, guess that's what Detroit is all about = it isn't even a blue-collar town anymore, more like a dirty t-shirt kind of town.
