I gues I will have to put this in caps NO NEW TAXES . STOP WASTING MONEY CLEAN UP THE FRAUD AND FRAUD AND FRAUD AND STOP SPENDING MORE THAN YOU YOU COLLECT . AND STOP GIVING BENEFITS OF 1 BILLION TO ILLEGALS AND YOU WANT TO ADD ANY NEW TAXES. If you tax more people will buy less. Hello what part of that don't you in government not understand. Taxpayers pay your salaries and you should be listening to us when we say no more money to illegals and clean up the fraud in the county with Medi-cal and IHSS etc. Voters vote NO on any new taxes because those in govt are squandering your money. Let's cut out the perks and let's have our elected officials live on what we make in the real world and see how fast it takes them NOT to enact or propose any new taxes. People will flee from CA leaving the very rich and the illegals who will continue to obtain benefits unless our electorate do something which is not amnesty.

What...another Measure "S" phone tax??? Are they crazy??? Problem is...half of this city is illiterate and they can't figure out that there is no such thing as a 'tax reduction' on a ballot!!! Why would voters be asked to vote for a TAX REDUCTION??? That in of itself should serve as a red flag...JUST SAY NO!!!

Any tax reduction is a tax hike in sheep's clothing! Sheesh!!!! No wonder this city is in so much trouble...5 million illiterate illegals...can't even read English, much less understand English!

Make it a straight across the board taxes for apartment dwellers also, then see if they vote for it. Why do the homeowners have to pay everything? You accumulate just as much trash in an apt as a house. Family of four uses the same amount of trash wherever they live. Just say NO to everything.

This is coming at the worst time possible. The cost of living is going up. Los Angeles was rated #55 on the costliest cities to live in worldwide, and ranked #2 for the United States alone. That beats out San Francisco. Measure S was a tactic sold in shady tactics to get the tax recouped. WATCH OUT now as the ads will once again be coming out. DON'T VOTE FOR THIS OR ANY OTHER MEASURE. This is an old SHUCK'n'JIVE approach to bad management practices. Every time something costs, the idea is to tax the residents. If you allow that practice to happen, expect bigger and better taxes such as:

Tax on food and drug purchases
Tax on services
Differential tier taxes like New York
Other taxes not yet dreamed of, but created later with other cities following suit because it's a great idea to them

Heavy taxation will continue to the point of where there won't be any quality in Los Angeles or its surrounding cities. Living in Los Angeles will come at a premium price, corporations and businesses will leave for other states because their being taxed too high by the State of California and their fanatical approach to solving their issues, and it will be darker times than ever here. There are only so many jobs at Mc Donalds, IHOP, and at the airport.

How disgusting that they keep raising and creating new taxes when the economy is slowing and when they've failed to control the cost of their inflated bureaucracy. Taxpayers would be more sympathetic if we saw government cutting salaries and cutting personnel to keep their costs reasonable, just like experienced in the private sector. How many businesses raise their prices when sales are down?

what was that saying I forget? Taxation without representation? Obviously, nobody like the Mayor, etc reads these blogs, cause our wants and needs sure ARE NOT represented!! Seems like the Mayors wants and needs are being taken care of just fine.

Bend me over, slap me silly, call me beach. Then TAX me. Zev has to go! TAX for basics, not for liberal agenda and illegal aliens. NO MORE TAXES!
The price of food, gas and just about everything you can think of is rising when the County/Cites/State want more. There's going to be a breaking point and I'm not talking about surfing you tofu heads.

It seems that every Democrat elected in the city and county of Los Angeles is just trying to get more tax revenue from any source possible instead of focusing the revenues they have to basic government. Basic government being police, fire, trash pick up and maintaining streets and sidewalks. In these hard times , politicians need to get back to what government is for and get out of the "extras" they keep promising people on the backs of the middle class working man and woman.
