Nine former " American Idol " contestants have filed a claim of racial discrimination against the popular reality TV show "American Idol," stating that they were they were publicly disqualified based on their race.

I think this is absolutely ridiculous. American Idol is many things, but racist isn't one of them. Several African American contestants have actually won. The fact that these few were kicked off the show has nothing to do with American Idol. Rather it has everything to do with their own stupidity. They were told before the show (as was every other contestant) that withholding information (like having a criminal record) would get you kicked off the show. Which is precisely what happened. I seriously don't see this holding up in court. The whole thing is laughable.
