Why Black Women Are The New Face Of The Weight Loss Industry

There are 32 comments on the WTLC-AM Indianapolis story from Jan 3, 2012, titled Why Black Women Are The New Face Of The Weight Loss Industry. In it, WTLC-AM Indianapolis reports that:

Black women and weight loss is something of a literary two-headed monster, but with Jennifer Hudson , Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey promoting weight loss products between football games and prime-time television sitcoms, the subject is not only becoming less contentious, but it is also reviving black actresses' careers, The Daily Beast reports.

Your FAT!

Yes, you fit the African American man who has a "bill of bad health"!

African-Americans and Stroke: The Risk Factors

High blood pressure, diabetes and obesity are two of the biggest risk factors for stroke, and the number of African-Americans with these medical conditions is huge. "Some of the risk factors are more frequent in African-Americans than in white Americans,” says Dr. Sacco. Some of the following risk factors are inherited, others are lifestyle-related and easier to change.

High blood pressure. This is risk factor number one for stroke, and up to 50 percent of African-Americans have the condition.“High blood pressure is more prevalent in African-Americans and not well controlled, particularly where access to care is not great," says Sacco.

Obesity. Nearly 68 percent of African-American men are overweight or obese, and that number jumps to just over 74 percent for women.
Diabetes. African-Americans are also more likely to have diabetes than Caucasians as well as die from its causes.

Tobacco use. Almost 28 percent of African-American men use tobacco, one risk factor that can be reduced or eliminated by stopping the use of tobacco products or never starting in the first place.

Sickle cell anemia. The blood disease sickle cell anemia is a condition that primarily affects African-Americans. A stroke can occur if sickle- or abnormally-shaped blood cells create a blockage in a blood vessel.

what a racist attitude. Everytime a actress or whomever does something, lets label, white woman, black woman, yellow woman, purple woman. The whole this is just stupid. And people wonder why the racist and lack of equality just continues. I see a commercial with Mariah or Janet I'm not looking at it going OH look at the black woman or what woman. I just watch it.

This topic is black racism. We are all Americans remember? Colorblind? Riiight...... People with very dark skin in this country WANT to be separate. Like, I want the cake and I want to eat it all. I'm in favor of giving blacks theirown state, like say make all of you go to Hawaii, then burn all the boats. LMAO!!
