When The Walt Disney Company & Hallmark Cards, Inc. are both finally making permanent contract agreements with children's digital cable/satellite TV channel The Hub, fast-food restaurant chain McDonald's, toy store chain Toys "R" Us, grocery/discount department-combination store chain Wal-Mart, and the "Wells' Blue Bunny" ice cream brand around January 1, 2015, "Family Game Night: Disney Edition" features real-life people and Disney characters who can be seated at the audience and/or to make guest appearances in almost every episode. Good Morning America news anchor Josh Elliott is co-hosting the show itself with the character of "Mickey Mouse", and with every episode of the show to feature real-life people and Disney characters playing multiple Hasbro toys and family board games in multiple variations that can either be original or Disney-branded.

Multiple Disney characters in "Family Game Night: Disney Edition" appear in the forms of either costume or real-life model, just like the other Disney editions of Discovery & Hasbro's "The Hub" U.S. TV network's original game shows such as those of "The Game of Life: Disney Edition" (which features Good Morning America lifestyle anchor Lara Spencer, who is co-hosting the show with the character of "Mickey Mouse") and "Pictureka!: Disney Edition" (which features Good Morning America Weekend news anchor Ron Claiborne, who is co-hosting the show with the character of "Mickey Mouse"). According to some of the staff who each work at "Burbank, Calif."-based The Walt Disney Company and Discovery & Hasbro's "The Hub" U.S. TV network, "Family Game Night: Disney Edition" was being co-produced by Hasbro Studios and Walt Disney Television with Discovery & Hasbro's "The Hub" U.S. TV network as one of the 8 of The Hub's original shows being co-produced by either Discovery Productions or Hasbro Studios with Walt Disney Television to air on, and approx. 26 episodes per season will each get premiered every Saturday on Discovery & Hasbro's "The Hub" U.S. TV network, beginning with the first season premiere on July 4, 2015.
