Am I misreading horrifically, or is the post above seriously attempting -- by hook or by crook -- to make the statement that being kind and generous to others means you are "morally bankrupt"?

I am well aware of the fact, by now, that those against equality *will absolutely, utterly and literally stop at nothing, nothing, nothing* to achieve their all-but-satanic agenda. I will, however, continue to be horribly shocked by it. The *lengths* the anti-gay go to for their *excuses* on these matters have become not immoral -- but entirely *amoral*, with no moral compass whatsoever, no logic in the slightest, and every attempt to reinvent language and history.

Take the previous post as a general statement, not necessarily to be correlated to the first post *IF* it's not warranted.

tolerance and acceptance are virtues shared by people who love themselves and others. we are all different, no two of us are the same. can you imagine how horrible this life would be if we all were exactly the same? we are all unique individuals, each a separate thread, that when woven together create the tapestry of life. lonewolf, if you are alone, your intolerance is probably the reason.

Will someone tell the state of Mississippi that this is the year 2010 NOT 1910. I am a straight guy but I also happen to be friendly with many gays and lesbians. It's a shame that alternative lifestyles are still frowned upon in some parts of the USA, but inbreeding is acceptable.

since you are friends with many gays and lesbians, then you should know that homosexuality is not a lifestyle. How are your gay friends' lifestyle different from yours?

This could have happened in ANY state, not just in Mississippi. The girl is LOVING the attention, whether it be negative or positive. Personally, I don't give a damn, one way or the other. I don't think that the prom should of been cancelled because of this, there is more that her involved.
It an entire graduating class. So, she is what she is, who gives a crap?! Her 15 minutes of 'fame' is running out, I guess she should be in the limelight while she can. Yep, beliefs are what you make of them, but, don't force them on others, regardless of what they are, we all have them, that is what makes us all different.

How can it be God's view when that book was written by Paul? Oh, I forgot!... Paul himself says "all Scripture is inspired of God." And because HE claims that his own words are those of God, we should believe him. If someone made that claim today about his own writings, we would consider him ... what? Looney! Loco! Nuts!

Don't be stupid, man. Use your common sense! We are no longer in the Middle Ages.

I believe tolerance is the act of patience and understanding, when someone else's opinion/lifestyle differs from one's own - a freedom from bigotry.
