'Bigot' is not name calling. Its identifying an individual or group by their identifying properties, whites, blacks, golfers, etc.....

So, no one can be verbally categorized by their actions, beliefs, physical traits or behaviors?

A bigot is someone who uses irrational beliefs to discriminate against others.

In this case, the name fits. If you don't like the sond of the word, it's best not to be one.

"school board Chairman Eddie Hood said.'We want to move on.'"
Of course they do! It's damned embarrassing to have your discrimination in all the media. I suppose they thought this would be simple, just tell her no and she will go to the back of the bus. Sorry, it ain't going away!

Who decides what is irrational? You? Sounds a little bigoted to me. To millions, by beliefs are not only rational but proper and justified. I can be catigorizied by my beliefs as a Christian, but thats about it, unless you get into your subjective lables.

Every time you make this argument, you look even more stupid.

The First Amendment grants her the right to be as selfish as she wants to be in her expression, subject to the rights of others, which are not affected here at all.

And even dumber, since she sued to have the prom go on anyway.

My Lord what did your parents do to so offend God that He afflicted you with such stupidity?

No one can agree, which is why it is a damn good idea to keep religious belief out of the business of government.

You are a poor example of a Christian, as are most of your kind.

Because of the school's prejudice and fear no one got a prom, stupid. All she asked is to bring the date of her choice and wear what she chooses to wear, just like all the other students, the school made the mess from there. SHE is the one trying to make the school have the prom for everyone, but you are too blinded by your own prejudice to see it.

Because of bigotry no one gets to have a prom. It is sad when a group decides to punish everyone just to enforce their prejudices against one person.

Reason decides what is rational. To millions beliefs about the chupacabras, the loch ness monster, the yeti, bigfoot, fairies and leprechauns are completely rational, proper and justified. The only problem is that they are not rational -- getting 10, 100, 1,000 or a few million people to agree on an irrational proposition does not somehow make it rational.

my parents sent me to public school.

proms by the way are not protected events, if these two homosexuals wanted to get dressed up and go to the theater, that would be a different matter.

the fact of the matter they wanted the school to bend to them, and now no one this year has a prom, that is what I call selfish.
