As far as I am concerned Julie does have a birth defect. It is called no frickin heart. As a christian I should be praying up a storm for her, her cruel wimpy husband who has to rip his daughters to feel like a man, and those poor girls who have to live with those horrible people, but all I want to do is slap them as hard as humanly possible and rub their noses in their own crap! These are the most horrible people I have ever witnessed on this show! God Please Help Them and their girls and help me to shed myself of those ill feelings towards them. I am a conservative who does want to see the border tightened and I am also a believer in man/woman marriage, but, I also have compassion for humans and their condition. It is our world, we can't fix it with Hatred!

I want to thank the bloggers and the show for showing me what to expect from people living in the great state of Oregon. I'm sure there are plenty of decent people living there, but not enough to make me ever want to step a foot in that place. I am not shocked about what this woman had to say. I think there are plenty of ignorant people that share many of her opinions. As a Mexican American I can say that this woman's opinions don't affect me. I am college educated, well travelled, and have a great life. I feel sad for this woman, and hope that she gets out of her town so she can be exposed to the world.

First off let me say that Julie hopefully has learned something from her experience and is a little more tolerant. I lived in southern Oregon for many years and my wife is from Grants Pass/Medford area. Its a beautiful wonderful place with many different types of people. I think that Julie would have to be the exception rather than the rule for the people and culture there.
My only question is what happened to the money at the end of the second show? The first show ended with Julie saying she held the last "card". It seems there was a disconnect between episodes on how the 50K would be spent and the other family being horrified at the result. Did the producers switch how the money was allocated or make Julie rewrite her letter?

After I saw Julie Chase open her mouth, I knew something ignorant was going to come spilling out! If I had been one of her family members, I certainly wouldn't have wanted her to come home. I hope and pray that her children aren't as closed minded, stupid and ignorant as she is. This world is hard enough on its own sometimes without Julie Chase making her dumbass opinions known. Remember Julie... KARMA IS A BITCH!!! My husband and I will pray for your children - they are going to need all the help they can get with you as their "egg donor".

You guys need to realize that this show is possibly helping other "monsters" realize what they are doing so they can start reforming themselves and the generations to come after them. Boycotting the show only shows how narrow-minded you are, too, for not willing to know others' opinions. Don't be part of the problem that she is, you hypocrites.

Did anyone (aside from me) notice that the 'scenes from next week's episode' Part One did not match what was shown on Part Two? For example in the coming attractions the Lane family seemed to be very upset by how Julie allocated the money but at the end of Part 2 this did not come out at all. It is as though Fox changed the ending the week between the two episodes. Did anyone besides me notice this?

I think that Julie along with an unfortunate amount of the general population need a crash course on "American History" and take a sobering look at exactly how people "settled" here and how land was stolen from others... especially "Mexicans." This Julie bitch is a sad, ignorant and disgusting reality... we should not kid ourselves into thinking that she is in a minority.. There are a whole lot of people that feel like she does, but aren't as upfront about it. She lives in an obviously sick, disfunctional and loveless family and that is exactly what she deserves.... I blame her and her husband's parents for raising such revolting wastes of spaces....What kills me is that they more than likely have the audacity to call themselves christians...it is just revolting

Maybe Julie doesn't know that Oregon used to be occupied by Native Americans who were moved onto reservations when White people 'took over'. I feel bad for this lady. Aside from the obvious anger issues, she is very ignorant. If she would just open her eyes and her mind she might learn something about the rest of the world. For one thing, and this is a rampant problem, she keeps referring to hispanic people as Mexicans. Has she ever seen a world map, I Wonder? Doesn't she realize how many latin countries there are? Maybe she seriously thinks only Mexicans cross the border. And I guess there's no way they could possibly come over legally. I recognize that there is a lot of illegal immigration, but I think hatred is the wrong way to go. I try to put myself in the shoes of the person who must be pretty desperate for a better life to abandon their culture and much of their family to immerse themselves in a country where they are not made to feel welcome. I disagree with the people that said Fox should not allow 'such vulgar people on television'. I think it's important for ignorance and prejudice to be exposed so that people can finally be educated.

I want to say ,at the start i didnt like Julie Chase ,but in the end Julie realized she didn't like Julie either . This show gave me hope. Julie when faced with truth, went through a soul
searching change.I hope she acted on her new view of herself and others she meets. Please realize people can change and we need to see Julie as one who was taught to react with hate the things she didn't understand. We can only chnge others views by speaking with kindness.Thoes that have hatefull feelings will always hate if we hate them.I like Julie because she looked in the mirror and found (a monster)...then decided she could change.I hope she likes herself now. I liked the Lanes very much and hope their lives are happy, they love their children and want the best for them.(this is from a previous homofobe who hated gays) I am glad I had the oportunity to change.

I don't think Julie realized she was a monster. I think she was faking the crying and shaking to make her looked like she was picked on. I don't think she will change on bit.

I am from vancouver, washington and was born in oregon and i have never been so disgusted by someone (Julie). I can't believe her excuse about not being around gay persons is that she is from oregon, being from oregon has nothing to do with it she is a terribly closed minded person. Phillip I am surprised you would say that because I have always found open minded caring people, and a thriving gay community in Portland.

Have just watched Trading spouses in New Zealand and I was so angered by Julie Chase and her attitude I wanted to ram my fist down her throat. She was so upset because she had to face up to the fact that she is an arsehole. Even though the showed aired in USA in 2008 and Im only seeing it now I hope she sees this and realises people like her have no place in this world. I think she said on TV she didnt want to be a monster mum because she has realised evrybody will see her for what she is. I alson hope some hispanic person marries her daughters. She lied she woont change its to ingrained. You should do a show on where she is at now. Julie Chase you are a MONSTER
