@Your right -- Before you go on a rant and pick on all the parents that are upset about not having Disney Junior, please learn how to spell. It should be "you're right." :)

My guess is you do not actually have kids. Yes, there are already quite a few kid channels; however, most of them, like Nick Jr., do not carry a lot of educational programming. The programming that Disney offers can be used as an educational tool, where parents interact with their children during the program and teach their children numbers, letters, etc. Not all parents simply use it as a babysitter. Moreover, even with Disney Jr., I'll still take my kids outside every day. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.:)

All of you parents that are whining and threatening to leave DirecTV about this:

Do your lives really revolve around your kids' television programming? I mean, who runs the show in your house, anyway? Apparently, little Timmy does. It's a freaking channel. Get over it. Buy a DVD if you miss JoJo that much.

Secondly, did you think that maybe, just maybe, this is all part of the negotiations process that happens every time DirecTV is up against entities like Disney? Think about it. I guarantee DirecTV will be your hero in just a few weeks when they announce that they'll be carrying the channel; you'll all feel pleased as punch about it as if they heard your cries of "foul" and actually listened to you.

Wake up, peeps.

My 2 yr. old and 5 yr. old are going to be really disappointed with this news. Especially my 2 yr. old who loves "Toodles" from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was looking forward to more episodes being on for her, so she could get her fill of Toodles. She goes around, all day, calling "Ooooh Tooooodles", lol. Argh. Very disappointed, Direct Tv. Bad move.

DirecTV, why won't you carry Disney Junior? I was looking forward to watching Timon and Pumbaa and all those other classic Disney shows again. Please reconsider and carry this channel by the end of May.

Thanks alot direct tv for for making my little girl unhappy and this house unhappy because you don't want to carry this great channel for kids and their parents. This is totally unacceptable. If they don't wise up soon I am definitely switching back to cable tv. Just for this channel. I feel it is that much worth it. Bye bye direct tv.

To all the "parents" talking about lawsuits because a tv channel isn't on, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I only shudder to think of what messages you are teaching your children. First of all Disney, not Directv, has been in charge of the commercials. At no time has there been an ad in any medium where Directv has stated they were about to offer the channel then failed to deliver. Second, you clearly have no clue of the background events which take place between providers of content and broadcasters of content. Tv channels don't just magically appear on every cable and satellite provider just because a company like Disney wants to start presenting it. They want money per subscriber for a channel and in the case of Disney the fact that own ESPN only complicates the issue as they try to bundle all the channels and force extra money out of providers. That makes the contract negotiations difficult every renewal and when new channel are created. Bottom line, Directv and others who don't have it will at some point when the contracts are revised. In the meantime, stop bitching, take your kids away from the tv and to a park or a zoo or a museum and be a better parent.

So ridiculous. Most of the young children's programs end in the morning and since we get them east coast time it's over within an hour of being up. Nickjr is ok but some variety would be nice I am so tired of watching sprout shows a million times throughout the day. Plus when we get home from work in the early afternoon we watch the shows and then they come on again little later same shows.
I hope directv gets their act together.

I too would like to see Disney Junior on Direct TV--some of the shows like Higgly Town and JO JO are really good for my preschoolers. I am considering switching to Cox to receive channel.

i agree with everyone. who needs buy-at-home crap when theres amazon. my 3 year old brother loves mickey mouse clubhouse! sure, im 13 but i think Disney Jr. would be a great opportunity for kids to watch classic educationals... if nick has a million channels on DTV, why cant Disney too? half the time on dissney junior on disney east they show the same episodes of shows. MY BROTHER AND I WANT THE 24 HOUR ONE!!!

VERY very disappointed in DirecTV! My contract up in August, and we will be cancelling and finding a different provider that does carry the Disney Jr. channel. PLEASE please rethink your decision! Disney Jr. provides educational shows versus Cartoon Network and HUB. Come one people...

We should file a class action against directv for false advertisement. We all for the pass 6 months or more have watched the commercials for Disney junior with no mention from directv that they had no intention to carry it. Sounds like false advertisement to me.
You are an idiot!! DirecTV didn't advertise anything in any way! Disney advertised it because it's their channel. Cerriers like DirecTV don't control the advertising on the channels you watch.

Problem is that DirecTV offers NickJr channel, so there's 24/7 kids programming, plus they offer Sprout. BIG problem is my kids don't watch much Nick programming or Sprout. So in the afternoons, if we're taking a break all we have is DVR shows.

Why won't DirecTV offer an additional choice? If my child wakes up in the middle of the night sick, I have no options (other than the bazillion infomercials that are played) to help my child calm down and focus on something other than being sick.

DirecTV, you kept Fox from us due to "negotiations" where you showed you're just as greedy -- and no better of a deal -- than cable. Is this what you're doing now? Selling out subscriber satisfaction so you can line your pockets? Thanks for limiting our choices to networks that bow and cater to you.
