I just heard somebody on TV say something similar to what my mom said. They said that people like Michael Jackson represents a time when this nation's culture was more unified and US people of all races tended to love the same stars. And that there will never be such big stars again that so many can relate to after that generation. So when these people from this time period die, people who were there when they were famous look at it with nostalgia and a sadness of the passing of a point in time that is leaving us.

For all you hating losers who haven't even accomplished a small percentage of what Michael accomplished in his life I have you know that Michael's, "Billy Jean," was the first black video that Mtv would even play on their video station. He did indeed break down racial barriers.

It was a skin condition called vitiligo, and if you looked at Michael he had even less pigment than most white people. His hands were those of an albino.

Guess none of you were around when all MTV played was Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, etc. MJJ, with all of his "issues" was the first black entertainer on MTV, was loved around the world in countries where english isn't the native language - wrote and produced music in collaboration in a way with other artists across color lines.
