Judged: 7 4 4 Ditto, to what you all are saying, and besides THAT, the breaking down of so called 'racial' barriers in MUSIC, as far as African American music is concerned, was WELL in place BEFORE even MJ's PARENTS were born. This thread does a tremendous injustice to the COUNTLESS African American artists that came WAY before this talented FREAK. |

Judged: 4 3 2 Same people who not too long ago were making fun of him and calling him the world's richest molester. Now the media and many in the public are paying respects to him like he was a saint. As for breaking down racial barriers, I think that's just silly. Back in the day, MTV wouldn't play his video's becaue at the time MTV considered itself a "rock" channel and MJ definitely was not rock. The public, his management, record co etc etc..will say it was because he was "black". But then again, Eddie Van Halen played the solo on "Beat It" and Steve Lukather(Toto) played many of the rythmn tracks on Thriller. maybe thoe 2 white guys helped him get a new bigger audience..lol. |

Judged: 3 2 2 The man was an incredible entertainer, but no need to give him credit where credit isn't due. There were numerous musicians before him who broke racial barriers. They paved the way for him. The only real racial barriers nowadays, are between violent gangs. Hell....they even kill themselves! Kudos to the first poster. They said it best. |
