Matt Smith will be brilliant and they will all eat their words even though I will miss David Tennant. As for Russell Brand being Dr Who, good lord the Doctor has honour not on her.

No Way! Tom Baker was much better. I see from the article that the great Tom Baker came in second at 19.7% vs David Tennant at 45.7%. They should have asked more people who are out of their teens. Then Tom Baker would have won hands down!

Hands down Tom Baker is number one But David Tennant would undoubtedly be second place. He had a lot of the same Quirks, you can see who influenced Russel T. the most.

I suppose it says a lot that Tom Baker came in second at 19.7% after all these years.

Decades ago my brother and I built a TARDIS in our basement rec-room. The TARDIS had a secret panel that opened into a storage room. So while friends were over playing pool or table tennis we would get beer, glasses, ashtrays, garbage cans, etc out of it. Then later someone would open it up and discover it was empty. So they would assume we were out of beer. Until one of us got another six pack out of it. Of course the regulars knew about it and understood the joke. But it was funny to watch the new visitors try to figure out what was going on. Especially when we started tossing barstools out of an "empty" TARDIS.

Ummm ... I feel like I'm getting old but the big question is how many of the fans of the New Who Series have seen Tom Baker. Also relevant is if the Old Who fans are the same type of person as the old. I think the New Series is less intelligent and clever and more maudlin pop.
I think it would be wonderful if they had Ian McKellen as Doctor Who. I also think it whould be wonderful if Russell T Davis were fed alive to a pack of rabid hamsters.

I just bought a new truck. The salesman is name Tom Baker. I held it in until the very end when I was getting the keys and getting ready to drive away. Then I asked him if he also sells TARDIS'. At first he had no idea what I was talking about, but the sales manager cracked up laughing. Then TB understood. I don't think he is a Dr. Who fan.

Anyway, Live long and prosper.

Oops. Wrong show.:)

Having watch episodes of all the doctors I would rank them as such:
1) Tom Baker - He WAS and IS the doctor. He truely defined the character. There is no contest....
2) Christopher Eccelston - Excellent modern version of the doctor sans the big hair. Was quirky funny, vulnerable and all that you would expect the Doctor to be.
3) David Tennent - Had a nice run but felt he "overplayed" the character a bit too much at times leading you to wonder if he was trying impersonate the doctor or be the doctor. He is still a very good actor and will be missed.
4) Peter Davison - It took a little bit of time to get used to him but a solid doctor. Had huge shoes to fill following Tom Baker.

Bring back Tom Baker as Dr. Who! He will always remain as the best Doctor Who. William Hartnel was the oldest Doctor Who and started the hit series. Bring back the wise old man Dr. Who!

Liked Tom Baker in the '80s, but he had a problem with US fans. A few bad apples spoiled things for all. Now he probably does 't want to travel.
David is and always will be 'my' Doctor, even if not the first.

I still can enjoy a Tom Baker adventure but David is my favorite.I also take exception to the poster who made the insulting comment about Russell T Davies, which is totally unnecessary. RTD breathed new life into a withering franchise suffering from no new televised adventures, and David Tennant clearly deserved the honor of Best Doctor. Old fans need to be more flexible in acceoting the newer Doctors. I was.

My regards & best wishes to anyone diagnosed with cancer. The Cure is Cannabis oil made from marijuana, but Big Pharma will never tell you of any cure because their actuaries tell them that the big money is not in cures but in managing US from cradle to grave.
