Review: 'Bruno' quickly goes out of style

There are 1 comment on the Stamford Advocate story from Jun 29, 2009, titled Review: 'Bruno' quickly goes out of style. In it, Stamford Advocate reports that:

The problem with "Bruno" is Bruno himself. Compared to Borat - and it's impossible to avoid the comparison - there simply isn't enough to the character to build an entire feature-length film around him.

I saw Bruno this morning and my immediate reaction was that Borat was better. This might be unfair since after Borat I now knew what to expect. The ludicrous character of Bruno was a foil to show how ridiculous some of the hetero community seem when confronted by an outrageous and out gay character. That two men kissing would arouse such anger and hatred is both crazy and ironic. This movie is more about mainstream culture's lack of acceptance of homosexuality as a fact of life.
