Maybe I should have been more specific.
The way I posted that last post, it did lead the reader to believe that I think reading the tabloids should be illegal.

So, my appologies for that. I didn't mean it that way.

My real feeling is that the tabloids themselves should be against the law.

Yes, freedom of the press is important.

Although, we don't get the whole story. We only get to read what the various governments want us to know. But that's a whole different argument and belongs on a board dedicated to Richard Belzer or somebody such.

But, tabloids are really not considered journalism. They are basically blown up sensational stories that are for the most part not true.

If I don't believe in the "Bat boy of Tansinaia" that was published in a tabloid, I'm certianly not going to believe anything they say about David Caruso or any other public figure.

Yes, there is a grain of truth in every lie. Usually it's the fact that person's name was spelled correctly that is the truth. Everything else is the lie.

That aside.

I don't totally disagree with your comments above. But, what I do disagree with is that statement "even bad press is good press."

There are celebs who don't want that kind of press. There are celebs who avoid doing interviews, like Alan Rickman, who don't want to be burned by the press. When they do do interviews, they choose the ones they do carefully. Even if their contract says they have to do so many propmotional spots for a movie or whatever.

Usually the celebs who want that kind of press deliberatly do things that will get them in the tabloids.

I remember seeing a show about a comedian and she got the tabloid for that week and the front page reported that she had died in a horrible car accedent or something like that. She just laughed and laughed.

I know I wouldn't like it if that happened to me.

Actually, I didn't really watch the rest of the show, it was a commedian that I didn't particulary care about.
I can't remember her name. She does stand up, has a mass of reddish brown curly hair, it's past her shoulders.
I just can't remember her name, but she's got like a reality show going on right now.
Anyone know who I'm talking about?
I hate it when I can't remember someones name.

No, I think YOU'RE the only one who spends hours. I spend minutes; doesn't take any longer when you're not covering tracks.

Oh PA LEESE someone hit that man, he is so effected he makes me wanna puke.I think that show is so much more than Dear David, the other actors are why i stay tuned every week, i only put up with him cause the network seems to deem him the man of the hour.I remember NYPD BLUES he was a big ass then and by the looks of it, he has not changed. The network took a chance with this guy but i for one am thinkin Hawaii 5..0 is where this guy is getting his ideas. There were so many similarities, i could not believe my eyes,i watch reruns over and over to make sure i was not mistaken.I will tell everyone right now, please watch Hawii..50 reruns, you will start laughing like me and see what i mean, David got his idea to play this guy from that show i swear. Forgive my spelling mishaps i am to damn tired right now to correct them or give a sh** Please someone share with me their ideas and thoughts !! JMO

If you don't like David, why would you ever watch his show 'over and 'over? I would have simply changed the channel. My leisure time is far too precious to waste on a show where I hate the lead.

Obviously, I do not agree with any of the things you've said, but you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

I never watched Hawaii 5.0 so I can't comment on whether or not he's taking example from them.

But, something that I'd like to agree with you on is that the rest of the cast is talanted.

David has his own style of acting. There are three ways to think about it: Love it, hate it, or don't care.

The network did take a chance on this guy. And I'm betting their not sorry they did. I'm also betting that everyone is appreciative of the entire cast being as good as they are.

I have an honest question for you. I'm not trying to be argumentative here, but you said "the show is so much more than dear David." This is true.
But, the way your comment reads it makes me understand that you think we think that he's the most important thing on the show.

Is that how you ment it to sound?

I mean, yeah, I'm a fan. But I don't claim that David is the ONLY thing about it that makes it work. There may be some here who think he is, and that's ok, but I think (in the relatively short time I've been here) that's not the general consensus of the members of this board.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Seriously.

Cheeky? Who, me? Never! Just making an observation. You needn't take offense.

If you read my profile, you'll see what I've been reading lately, or at least some of it.

Since there's nobody else around at the moment, I figured you could assume I was addressing you.

If that's not correct, just ignore me.

BRENDA,
This post is addressed to you.

I think it's anoying, the "quote" thing.
That's why I don't personally do it unless I think it's absoultly necessary.
It's redundant.

And why so defensive? We're just stating our opinions.

And this statement, "....well me right??? I read alot more than you will ever in your life time" was totally uncalled for, she was just making a suggestion. And a good one at that, for anybody.

Let me clarify my last statement, please.

I think the 'quote' is annoying when it's over used.
Especially when it's used in the very next post.

That's what I mean, no offence to anyone, OK?

Unless you happen to be our old friend (not!) Vix, then I hope you are offended.
