Jeremiah Tucker: Releases pit clever vs. emotional

There are 4 comments on the Joplin Globe story from Aug 2, 2007, titled Jeremiah Tucker: Releases pit clever vs. emotional. In it, Joplin Globe reports that:

“Wake on the shores of a distant land/ the hair, the TV, the baby, and the band/ Sunburned back with my face in the sand/ The hair, the TV, the baby and the band.”

don;t ready the jeremiah tucker review on THE CON...he clearly has no idea what he;'s talking about. "Over emotional music for 15 year old girls?" I hardly know any 15 year old who even know who tegan and sara are. and THE CON is a brilliant album, and i'd never say it's over emotional...yeah it's indie/pop love songs for the most part, but still better than anything Imperial Teen could hope to ever make.

Definitely agree with Mr. Tucker. Imperial Teen are far more sophisticated and better pop songwriters than T&S. The fact that T&S will receive more airplay will solely be a triumph of major label marketing, style and money over indie sensibility and substance.

The songs that have been avaible for stream of The Hair The TV the Baby and The Band (Do It Better and Shim Sham) are two of the best pop songs thus far of 2007.

year right? who should we listen to: you or a guy who has listened to all of both records?

I can't comment as I haven't heard all of the new imperial teen album, but I have heard The Con and the song Shim Sham alone transcends The Con by itself even if the rest of the hair the tv the baby the band is crapola.
