I absolutely LOVED The Golden Girls. Did not miss an episode. She was fantastic on that show and had such a wit about her. RIP and thanks for so many years of laughter.

It's like I've lost my Grand Mother all over again. I've seen every episode of 'Golded Girls' and they are all the best. They'll never make another show as great as that one. I loved everyone of those girls and feel as though we were all family.
God Speed Mrs "G"....We'll miss you...

I grew up watching Golden Girls and still to this day catch it on Lifetime (9-10am, 4-5pm and 1-2am!) when it's on! I LOVE the Golden Girls... all of them had such great charisma together! I'm saddened by the loss of "Sophia" but I know that she'll live on through Golden Girls and bring cheer to millions for years to come! I also realize that this ends all of her suffering which she's been going through for many many years with her dementia.. horrible disease!

R.I.P Sophia! You'll truly be missed!

As the song so greatly put it: "Thank you for being a friend!"

My 96 year old mother used to call this lady, "little sister" and she used to watch the Golden Girls a lot.

I loved watching the GG's! She, Estelle, was my favorite! I always knew I would get a big laugh from her sarcastic responses. So very funny. A perfect cast and script. Ms Getty was the icing on the cake. She will be missed. Let's pray for her family in their time of her loss.

I recall watching the GGs like everybody else. The "snappy" responses were an Estelle Getty (pardon me "Sophia") classic response.

I wish Sophia and "Judge Judy" (two "shorties") could have made a commercial together. That would have been a riot!

Surprised Senater Bararck Hussein Obama supporters have not left their "hate the old petition" of the Golden Girls yet. These Hollywood ladies made an excellent show and caste and all while in their golden years too. Disparaging the elderly will not gain anyone's vote and yet the Obama campaign doe not know any better.

Sure did not take long for some dope to post something dumb to break up all the good sentiments left for Estelle.

There is a time and place for "political hatred." Now is NOT the time and this story in particular is NOT the place.

When so many are calling Senater McCain too old and senile at 71 to be president of the USA the death of Estelle of the famed Golden Girls show at 84 is definately the time and place with out a doubt to bring up the chronic in going issue of hatered towards older and elderly Americans that Obama supporters have shown.

Junior Senater Barrack Hussien Obama has only 143 days in Senate and lacks any foreign policy experience what so ever. Junior has no experience and his supporters constant disdain for McCain because he is 71 is not only ignorant but discrimantory towards elderly and older Americans.

Estelle was making the US laugh hard at 71 doing and top of her game and died at 84. Rather have experience than inexperience as a leader for the USA.

I saw her use a public restroom in Auschwitz. She had a bad case of typhus and was like fire hose of diarreah.
