I despise "modern family" for its depiction of high-strung, mindless queens who would NEVER be allowed to adopt in the real world. I know gay male couples with kids; they are nothing like these clueless twits.

I remember the short-lived "hot l baltimore" from 1975, it had an obviously gay couple, george and gordon, who bickered like an old married couple. The cast was brilliant...conchatta ferrell, richard masur, james cromwell, charlotte rae, etc. Like most intelligent tv shows, it was doomed.

Wow! Now that's a historical mention one does not often read.
Hot l Baltimore was one of my favorite shows when it was on. Thanks for taking me back in time.

Imagine how he would have been if he could be openly gay. Not that he was all that closeted, but tv was. His hollywood squares quips were the most blatantly gay material of its time.

I never cared for Paul Lynde; heard he was somewhat of a prize jerk most of the time.

Dick Sargent (Darrin #2) was a gay man. I remember he and Ms. Montgomery riding on a float together in some parade, apparently that was the last time they appeared in public together.
