Being reminded that there are mean-spirited people in the world is always relevant. For example, I wouldn't join a club that would have you as a member.

Neither did I, but I do remember reading they were bullied into working and were treated poorly.

One thing that stands out is the director couldn't get one of them to cry. He needed the shot. He told one LR that he was taking the dog out back to shoot and kill it. Someone walked the dog out behind the set and shot off a gun. Director git his cry scene.

Mean doesn't surprise me.

He was killed in a fight over a hunting dog. Some child actors make the successful transition into adult actors. You don't have to look far, look at Lindsay Lohan, Macauley Culkin, Brad Renfro, Dana Plato and the other kids from Different Strokes. They end up getting into drugs and trouble with the law.

Alfalfa's death was ruled a justifiable homicide despite serious doubts about what actually went down. It has been claimed that the shooter was not in any immediate danger when he just decided to shoot.

Are you thinking of actor Nick Stahl who was a child actor who started off in the 90's. He was in "The Man Without A Face" with Mel Gibson. Earlier this year, he was reported missing by his estranged wife and supposedly ended up in rehab then left. There were sightings of him in Los Angeles in an area where all the junkies frequent.

He was unarmed. It came down to two witnesses, Stiltz, the fat bastard who murdered Switzer, and Jack Piott, Switzer's companion that night. Speculation is that the cop who lived next door to the Corrigans (whose home Switzer was murdered in) may have been able to convince the coroner to change the verdict because he wanted to protect the Corrigan family, especially the kids. Switzer was trying to get out of that house. He had his left hand on the doorknob when Bud Stiltz, the fat bastard, shot him. Piott was threatened too. I have a copy of the original Coroner Inquest from January 26, 1959 at this Google site I set up for viewing: https://sites.google.com/site/thealfalfaconsp...
We're also on Facebook under The Alfalfa Conspiracy. We're trying to get the word out there and a true biography is in the process of being written. Please look at the Inquest, download them, share them, make them go viral.
