I can't believe The Shield was shut out. It had a AMAZING final season and deserved best show, writing and acting noms.

I can't believe that January Jones wasn't nominated for Mad Men (Betty), but Elizabeth Moss was (Peggy)....I think the Peggy character had a great year, and the one scene in the finale was phenomenal, but Betty was the main female focus last year of the show.

I can't believe Family Guy got nominated to.

What about Rescue Me? It's the best show on television right now.

Is "Entourage" nominated in the category "Shows That Peaked 3+ Seasons Ago"?

I can't believe how self-aggrandizing shows such as this find viewers.

Yes, I can. I just think of all the stupid reality shows that are successful.

People will watch no matter what.

Yeah well since the Shield shows things as they really are, the Hollywood leftys can't take it. They'd rather endorse the show that features Tina Fey, who was instrumental in damaging their arch-enemy Sarah Palin.

The Shield got screwed. I really don't see the hype with 30 rock. I've tried to watch it a couple of times and I find it ok.

What, did 30 Rock get nominated multiple times for "Comedies that aren't at all funny"? It should have to compete only with itself in that category.

And, of course Family Guy got nominated after it turned from slightly-liberal to ragging on the Right in every show this season (Complete with a Louis goes to work for Fox News ep). Dumb. Be Funny & don't show the mental derangement of your show's creator.

And, while I like Mad Men, it should get nominated under Mini-Series only. 10 episodes & a year+ break doesn't cut it. I have no idea what last happened...

So we got to #11 before some started blaiming the "liberal media" or the "lefties" becasue their show wasn't nominated. I know the Shield is a good show, but if have noticed outside of Monk, the Mentalist and Dexter, no other cop shows were nominated.

Perhaps its just not the year for that genre.

Madmen had a 13 episode run last summer ending in late October or early November. Typically cable shows like this (ie: Dexter, The Closer, The Sopranos, etc) only have 13 episodes per season. Its cheaper for a network and I think it means that the shows don't get to old to quickly (ie: ER, NYPD Blue, Greys Anatomy, etc). Perhaps looking things up on the internets, before making those kind of statements might make your two other arguments not as funny as they really are.

Of course Family Guy gets a nod it makes fun of Palin & Fox .. Family Guy used to be funny .. 5 years ago. and 30 Rock best comedy .. the only thing funny about that show is it keeps getting awards ... At least the Office & Dexter are on the list but what about the Sheild .. it was the best to ever be on TV .. much better than the Soprano's ... Tina Fey must be really good .. because her show sucksssss alot

I'm so thrilled for Jim Parsons! His character of Sheldon Cooper is one of the funniest on TV (and sexy in his own way). I'm also pleased to see Michael Emerson as this season on Lost he gave some of he most intense, thematic performances I'd ever seen. Finally, congrats to Elizabeth Moss from Mad Men.

The biggest snubs? Elizabeth Mitchell, Josh Holloway and Naveen Andrews for "Lost," Christina Hendricks for "Mad Men", and America Ferrera for "Ugly Betty"

No mention of the mini-series "Little Dorrit," (adaptation of Charles Dicken's book) which received 11 Emmy nominations and was one of the best popgrams on PBS this year. Buy the DVD, you will not regret it!

Absolutely no nominations for "Joey"? That's a bummer. Oh well, I guess I'll skip the Emmys this year.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Cancer

If you thought yesterday was fraught with tension the temperature rises a few notches again today, as Mars turns retro in your house of finances and values. What's eating you? Maybe you're annoyed because your spare time is being eroded by duties that are weighing heavily on your shoulders. You might also be miffed by the flippant attitude of a certain person who you think should be taking life a lot more seriously. Calm down or you'll blow a gasket.
