"Anderson told the TV show "Canada AM" that she's "angry" about the seal hunt, describing it as "barbaric and cruel" and "an embarrassment" to her native country."

It may be "barbaric and cruel" to kill a juvenile seal but it is not the least bit inhumane, the fact is the seal hunt and methods use is proven most effective by scientific and veterinary studies done in the USA( the native hunt in Alaska) and Canada, the fact is it is more humane than most slaughter houses from which we get our bacon.
Pam your the embarrassment to our country!

The seal hunt accounts for only about 5% of their income.

It is barbaric. The baby seals are slaughtered many times right in front of
their moms, some seals are skinned while still alive, not all the "clubbers"
know how to kill with one strike.... there are tons of reasons why the seal
hunt needs to stop. YOU are the embarrassment.

"baby" is a term used for the humans not seals, pup is the proper term and at the time the hunt commences the mothers had abandoned the pups and they're left to fend for themselves, you been misinformed my dear.
As for skinning alive that is a myth, seals once struck with the hakipik (3 times in quick succession as required by law) thus crushing the cranium, the end result is brain death, the assumption that the seal is still alive is that some do show signs of "swimming" this is called the swimming reflex something we also we see in chickens when they get their heads chopped of, next is the eye blink test where we check if the seal is brain dead, third is bleeding of the animal whereas we cut the main arteries under neath the front flippers and let the animal bleed out for one minute before continuing on to the next animal.

Okay now what's barbaric about that and why does it need to be stopped, cause seals are cute and "cuddly"???

WHAT'S barbaric????? Hello... did you just read what you wrote?

Ok...they are seal "pups". That doesn't change a thing, by the way.
I have seen photos and videos of the mother seals WITH the seal pups.
The brutal hunt is absolutely unnecessary. Most EU countries have
banned the import of seal fur and seal products, so what's the point?
I'd love to see someone strike you in the head 3x with a hakipik.
Let me know if it hurts, ok? Hope they don't skin you before you die.
