The Trib is desperate. Were you gonna raise the price again to pay Jay's inflated salary?

Gimme a break.
The guy says newspapers are sinking, then promptly tries to climb aboard his foundering neighbor?
He's simply an egotist whose heavy negatives finally outweighed any attention he drew to the S-T.
The Trib was right to pass on his antics.
Give anyone on their Sports desk a column and a microphone and fans are better served.

Why do you all hate Mariotti? He tells is as it is. He keeps it real.
"Real" is the word every negative person hides behind. Someone says/posts something negative and calls it "real" or "the truth". Real is using facts to back up what you say, real is confronting those you criticize, real is sticking by your words and admitting when you're wrong. Jay has never been one to "keep it real".

Wow. Thankfully, I've only been exposed to this apparent pariah via ATH. I don't know much about his writing, but I do know a jerk when I see one. To basically throw his employer and all of print media under the bus, and then to seek asylum from the unemployment line, at a cross-town print media rival is below bush league. I think the name Mariotti will become an epithet to describe a weasily snake in future generations just like milquetoast describes a weak-backed coward. We will know what it means long after we forget who or what it first referenced.

Mariotti would be much better of at Pravda or with Keith Olberman on MSNBC.
Olberman would strangle him in the first ten minutes. Jay is a punk and a loud mouthed wimp. He's the guy in the bar that talks all smack and when punches start to get thrown, he's hiding in the bathroom, only to return ten minutes later to talk more trash. He's a worm.
