What idiot at the Tribune thought that was even a remotely worthwhile idea?

Oh gee, what a shame. Maybe it's time Mariotti leaves Chicago for his imaginary future as a blogger on the web.

Well, well, well.... guess the great bloviator's contention that print journalism was passe' didn't apply when he was seeking a paycheck.

Go start your your own blog, pal, and see how much people listen to your opinions.

Just another self-absorbed jerk who thought he was bigger than the medium that paid him.

Great news all around. Who says there's never a lawyer around when you need one?

when he quit the sun-times he said newspapers are on their way out & he never wanted to be associated anywhere near such a failing industry ever again.

then he goes right over to the trib,(another member of his "Failing Industry Concept") begging for a job.

and they were going to consider him?

go back to last month....what really happened?

Today is Tuesday, September 16th, 2008. The Cubs and White Sox are in first place. Life is good. Try and put a negative spin on that Mariotti.

Darn lawyers. Ruining a great opportunity again. This is a great loss for the art of writing. Like Frank Lloyd Wright being told he can only build Home Depot sheds. Mariotti is Grantland Rice of our time. Heck, he's the Grantland Rice of Grantland Rice's time. Chicago will not recover from this loss.

What was the Tribune thinking? Jay doesn't attract readers, he drives them away! The guy is a total loser and massive jerk.

I just wish he would leave Chicago once and for all!

Good.

Foolish of the Trib to have even looked his way to begin with.

Did you read Roger Ebert's letter to Mariotti? It was GREAT! Ebert has some sack, and I found new respect for the man. As a result, I for one have started reading the Sun Times. Go EBERT!
