Farewell, Mrs. Slocombe - Lez Get Real

Mollie Sugden passed away on 1 July 2009. She was 86. For many of us, Mrs. Bettie Slocombe is what we will remember Mollie Sugden the most for. Mrs. Slocombe was a character that Sugden would play for the better part of two decades with the character finally retiring in 1993, two decades after she first debuted in 1973. For many of us, Mrs. Slocombe, the erasable head of the Ladies’ Department of Grace Bro. Department Store on Are You Being Served?...I felt that, despite the lateness of this obituary, it was only fitting to remember the life of someone who made a lot of people laugh over the years.

While the name slips from my mind her number 2 passed a couple months ago as well. I will miss them both. and all of the "Are You Being Served" as they pass as well.

Wendy Richards who played Miss Brahms. John Inman also passed away not too long ago. He played Mr. Humphries. Richards succumbed to breast cancer, and Inman to Hepititis A.

Thank you, I loved the show. We never think of those from other countries when they pass.

Why we did not carry that program "Are You Being Served" from its inception I will never know. it was great. CBS, ABC and NBC had nothing to match it.

I miss the canadian "The Great Detective" as well.
